  1. Yes I was just saying mine never clicks period it is smooth operation. I would have your dealer look into it and have a tech on a ride along to show them. That's sounds to me like something is not seated right. Malcolm
  2. When it was non functioning and had to be replaced it was disengaged. My wheel would be full 720 degrees like a normal car but never clicked. Malcolm
  3. Yeah I don't believe I have ever had a clicking in it even when it was disengaged. Does it make the noise in sport and normal in the adaptive menu? I only use sport myself. Malcolm
  4. I don't think i'v ever heard clicking out of my wheel can you take a video of it so we can hear what you mean? My driver window seals water fine but wind noise is high on that side and they have even replaced the weather stripping so I just live with it. It's still way quieter than my old celica which had no dampening whatsoever. Perhaps I just can't hear this noise, does it make it while idling and just turning the wheel? Malcolm
  5. I have the Nav version update procedure is slighty different but it should not void your warranty as it is an OS update. They were impressed actually at the dealer when I went in for the steering wheel fix. Yours requires 2 updates to complete I suggest you read the thread before doing it. Malcolm
  6. Your phone should work fine once tethered. And if you want to use it just for the drive without touching the car at all AA now works by itself in the app. Get the AA app off the playstore and you will see what I mean. Malcolm.
  7. Yeah I was told for mine it was a programming issue. Hope they can get you sorted. Would any info I have from engineering mode help, I don't think it shows what software it is as the software it shows me is the same as the clusters part number and that cluster is in many cars. I take it you can not see what is in the IPC without something like forscan? Malcolm
  8. I leave mine on the circle tach and temp and fuel, I mean come on if you get the sport and want to try to get good mileage your kidding yourself lol. I agree the euro cluster and NA explorer one looks nicer but at the same time my vision is not as good as many so having the speedo in the middle does help and I prefer an analog speedo to digital. The entertainment portion of the cluster though does suck and shows almost no information. If people want the other cluster look here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22024-north-american-2016-ford-edge-sport-instrument-cluster-upgrade/ Now we should get back on topic I think this thread has been derailed lol. Malcolm
  9. That is super clean, I just shoved my wire along the seems of the trim then it shows for one part when you open the door and goes into a module in the glove box I have on the dash that can power it and my rear camera manually but can also give me outlets for things in the future. It does take up my passenger 12v though (not that I ever use it). My rear just goes same way shoved in the trim then under the mat for the backseat and along the seat side shoved under it and back through my rear floor then up the stripping on the hatch to the camera with enough space to let the hatch fully extend. After seeing this might not pull the stripping but might wire it up to that fuse so I don't have to switch it on/off. Mines also not the prettiest thing in the world. Malcolm
  10. Hope they program it right the first time! I'm happy with mine now, good luck on the time frame mine took about a month to arrive. Malcolm
  11. Ha, So I will pick my car up again today soon and they did say it was programmed wrong and was off center on the steering, but told me they still have my old wheel and it feels the same. I did not bother asking them to show me it, figured I already had them though enough hell lol. Hopefully it is straight when I go down there in a few minutes. Also Smith I don't think that code can even be due to the tires as it seems to be specific to the steering control model for the adaptive portion, I would have them take off your wheel and see if the code is the same lol. Malcolm EDIT: Got the car and my wheel is now dead straight and the adaptive stuff is back and nice and heavy in all modes again. The wheel is straighter then my old one ever was.
  12. Yeah I do agree with that glad I don't have snow, hope you clean your door sills occasionally noticed the way the doors are designed they hold water and dirt in the bottom of them asking for rust imo. I work in IT and the amount of issues we need to call software companies to patch are like did you even test this with your brains. Malcolm
  13. Doubt I could pull that off but don't want too, love the power and the ride of this vehicle when its working fine. Things I have gotten sure makes the car look bad but I have enjoyed it on multiple road trips up to this point. I have over 13k miles now. I find it also extremely safe. I came from a 2002 Celica GT that did not even have ABS let alone stability control (or torque for that matter). I find the edge even corners closeish which is impressive considering the GT was on BC BR's. Malcolm
  14. Just got my wheel assembly replaced and I have to say the new wheel does not feel like real leather this time and the stalks feel cheap as well as the buttons. It also is not as straight this time it is turned slightly to the left. I have not checked if the horn works. But the biggest issue I think is that in the adaptive steering menu both settings for sport and normal are now greyed out and I can not select them and sport and normal both have light steering. Should I bring it back to the dealer immediately? Has anyone else noticed the cheaper feeling wheel? It does say they reset my toe and trim but now I think that screwed up the computer wheel calibration as I actually have to turn into the crown of the road to stay straight. Malcolm EDIT: Called dealer back and they think it was programmed wrong (i'm thinking a setting in forscan is wrong) and they will look at my toe and what not as they apparently messed with that too so hopefully it gets straightened out. No issue with service though minus this, they have been quick and courteous to get it fixed. Car goes back tomorrow to check programming. But yeah I swear the resistance to the buttons (really light) and the wrap of the wheel is different lol.
  15. Hope you get it all settled I'm very happy with it minus this one thing. Mine when off just becomes like full ratio steering I luckily have not had the wheel go 90 degrees or anything. It just seems to have super light steering and goes all the way around now. I would not deem this unsafe to drive though. I think your dealer is shooting themselves in the foot for not letting you drive it like this, but I guess it is good their putting your safety first.
  16. Welp, got the notice and it turned off again this morning but also threw that C2100 code this time so took it to Ford and they did not see anything under the vin. I forwarded them the TSB in this thread and they called me shortly after. I will be getting a new steering wheel next year. They cleared my code and the system came completely back but they told me it will break again most likely. So definitely give them the TSB if you go in. Malcolm
  17. Yes just start the usb audio first then the steering controls work with it while your in aa, voice controls will not though as it uses Google even if your not in aa but the phone is plugged in. I do this as Bluetooth audio sucks for sound imo, and the apps I use are not very good with aa at the current time.
  18. Wow yeah that is weird since mines just on it and my playlist files are also just on the root and it finds them fine. My files are all flac as it is just a straight copy off my main pc. It really sounds like you had a bug or something. I also had v1.0 .
  19. Glad you got it all worked out, I have all my stuff just on a usb drive at the root with some folders for albums but that's it. Sync should index your files regardless of location as it makes its own internal database of where stuff is at and based on meta data in files what links to what. Perhaps your ipod has odd meta data on the files it houses?
  20. It all depends on the speed of your usb drive and the non nav is a bigger update than the nav one and two parts. Mine took 30 minutes on nav version just driving around with a fairly quick 2.0 stick.
  21. I was wondering if they could do this to try again but wasn't going to be the one to suggest it as I had no idea if you could back flash or what would happen if you tried, good to know that it can be used as a fallback.
  22. Props again to Jason, I see all models sites are seeing this update pop up everywhere so many don't have to wait.
  23. What format is your usb sticks? Are they MBR or GPT, I don't know if that matters but mine I made sure to be MBR.
