  1. To each his (or her) own. It was a suggestion based on my experience, preference and honestly, cost. It was literally $4 compared to the Blendmount that's $130.
  2. No, can you recommend a scanner? I've not looked into it in depth.
  3. As soon as I experienced the hard shifts (LMS calls them firm shifts), I called Andrew. He told me the only difference between the 93P and 93A tunes is the shifting and more aggressive shift points, otherwise, the tunes are identical. That's why I went back to the 93P. I experience firm shifts on that tune, not the cringe inducing shifts of the 93A.
  4. I received the second letter a few days ago. Anyone else?
  5. If I had to guess, the chime sounds like it came from your dash cam. It was likely cheering a nice run on the Snake. I like the sound of the MRT, it sounds like it has a bit more of a growl (on accel) than their YouTube videos. I'm still on the fence about getting it myself.
  6. I agree. I just want the time slip. I run the 93 performance tune exclusively. I tried the 93 aggressive tune briefly but the (down)shifts were harsh as f***. If you're going to change from 91 to 93, make sure you run a tank of 93 through before you make the switch to the 93 tune. This is advice I followed from Jaime (or is it Jamie, idk) at LMS when I went from 87 to 93. I don't imagine a huge impact going from 91 to 93 but I like to follow the advice of the guys who tuned my car.
  7. I respectfully disagree, unless you have metallic tint or a metallized windshield, of which the Edge has neither. As such, signal attentuation and the impact on range is negligible with a high mount versus a mid or low mount. The OP has a 2017 Edge. When mounted to the visor the detector would be below the tint, just like mine.
  8. I got my letter in the mail and called my dealership the next day. They said they had to order the part. I said, that my letter states the parts are available. She said, yes they are, for us to order them... Will take two days to arrive at the dealership she says. That was early Wednesday, and as of today, no call from the dealership. I'm not proud of it and admittedly, this isn't my most rational thinking but I'm not happy with this - The parts should ALREADY be at the dealership. How many Edges (or affected vehicles) were recalled? As a parts manager, you should be aware of recalls and the affected parts, no? If so, do some simple math (with sales figures obtained from your sales department) and make an initial order of a small percentage of Edges sold from your dealership, say 10%. That way in the early stages of the recall, when customers get that stupid letter, they can take in their vehicle without delay and get it fixed! Be proactive instead of reactive, or is that too much to ask? Maybe my expectations are too high...or maybe it's not me at all. Perhaps customer service is dying. I need a hug and a tissue. Thanks for reading. Rant over.
  9. Looking at this pic, am I correct in assuming that the engine cover is removable without disconnecting STB?
  10. Yes, I've run mid to low 13's at the track. I haven't yet ventured into race gas territory but I will the next time I head to the strip, anything to get a couple tenths, right?! 1,500 seems like too low of an RPM to induce wheel hop as the torque curve has barely started its' rise to peak... http://www.automobile-catalog.com/wykres_power_m.php
  11. I'm not on FB so.... But by modded, do you mean tuned? I'm tuned and I've never experienced wheel hop. If launched at the correct RPM, (2,000-2,200) I don't get so much as a peep from the stock Pirelli's. On summer tires I'd imagine I could bump up the launch RPM to around 2,300-2,500, maybe even a tad higher and not get wheel hop. Maybe I got a 'slow' model.
  12. Is everything installed? The exhaust and handling kit?
  13. Is wheel hop a thing on our Edges? I've never experienced this - even at the drag strip. Now wheel hop on my '03 Cobra? That's a whole different story!
  14. From what I understand, there's cutting required of the stock exhaust, it's not just a simple bolt-on. This is what has given me pause about getting this system. https://www.shopmrt.com/2015-2016-Ford-Edge-Sport-EcoFlow-AxleBack-Exhaust-p/91e100.htm ETA: Though I am anxious to read your review after you've installed it.
  15. This only confirms my thoughts. The handling on my Edge has easily been improved 10 fold with these springs. Even on the stock Pirelli's I can take turns at silly speeds that I wouldn't think of without them. It will only get better next summer when I get my hands on some Michelin Latitude Sport 3's. I can't wait. Cheers!
  16. Not sure if this helps, but I think it's worth reading. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1450961-p04db-code.html
  17. I installed an Escort 9500ix with a visor mount and it maintains it's GPS signal. Have you considered one?
  18. I ordered mine after you and got them before you...
  19. I guess I'd start by tightening up my seatbelt...dunno after that.
  20. I'm late to this party but all EcoBoosted motors have twin scroll turbos = no lag. http://fordaddict.com/ecoboost-twin-scroll/
