I suppose I like the idea but isn't the stock thermostat 170º?

H&R SPORT SPRINGS ON G2 EDGE SPORT
always on edge replied to Xtra's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I would think a good performance summer tire would get decent grip. I'd wager that .83 would go up to .95, maybe more. I was thinking of something like this for mine - https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiSportContact+5P&partnum=64YR1SPC5N0&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Ford&autoYear=2016&autoModel=Edge%20AWD&autoModClar=Sport -

Install typically runs around $400. The shop that did mine included an alignment in that price, yours may differ. I was quoted by three shops between $380-$450. -
H&R SPORT SPRINGS ON G2 EDGE SPORT

I was surfing the interwebs a few minutes ago and I read on Car and Driver's website that the G2 Edge only gets .83g on the skid pad in stock form. I wonder with the H&R springs if that number would be bumped up some, or maybe more when Xtra installs his bracing kit? Anyone with a H&R equipped Edge have access to a skid pad? -

+1 I can (and do) take freeway on-ramps at nearly the same speed as my FZ-09. It's amazing. -

Thanks! I had a local shop do the install. $400 and 4 hours later, life is good. It took them a minute to figure out to drop the subframe. I saw they were having trouble and mentioned it to be good idea, they took my advice and were finished soon after. I went out for another quick run about this evening and I still love it. I feel besides the tune, it's the best thing I've done to the car. -

Soooooo today I had my H&K springs installed. I love them! I only put about 25 miles on them this afternoon but my initial impression is that they feel a little more supple than stock during everyday driving. I've experienced no squat on hard acceleration and as stated by Xtra, they do firm up quick in the twisties. Over bumpy roads, the car feels more compliant and settled. I don't feel jarred nor do I cringe when hitting bumps; all is good. I will update this thread when I get a few hundred miles on the springs, but so far, I couldn't be happier with my decision. Before and after pics for your perusal. -

That looks amazing! I ordered mine tonight. Tire Rack shows a ship date of 5/23. I'll post pics of mine when it's done as well. -

Nick, I like the stance of your Edge. It looks more balanced and not so front heavy. How's the ride compared to the stockers? -

I wanna see some after pics...don't be a tease. LOL ETA: Do you need camber kit with these springs? -
Not bad for back to back to back runs, very consistent. Nice driving! With a tune and 93 octane you could be in the low 13's!
-
I drive mostly city, exclusively in Sport mode with frequent hard acceleration on 93 octane and regularly get 18 smiles per gallon with nearly 11k on the ticker.

I've not experienced a steering fault and I'm not an expert on the LMS tune but I'm confident the tune has nothing to with your steering problem. Return the tune to stock and see if the fault occurs again. If so, take the car to the dealership for service. Following the service, retune. My $.02. Good luck.

The tuner ships with the latest update.

Sounds like you're going through a bit of trouble for something that should be plug and play. I don't know if it's an option, but you could purchase a different dash cam. I have a Z-Edge dash cam that turns off within 15 seconds of my ignition being turned off and I use the USB port for power. The model year of your Edge isn't listed so I'm guessing you don't have a USB power source. No worries, there's a cigarette lighter attachment that comes with the camera. Good luck. https://www.amazon.com/Z-Edge-2560x1080-Dashboard-Recording-Ambarella/dp/B018YRBQSK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483308036&sr=8-3&keywords=z+cam+dash+cam

No, purchased from Stage 3 Motorsports and returned. Magnaflow's website has been changed to reflect FWD only for that system and they've allegedly notified all vendors of such.
-
Note that this exhaust only fits FWD Edge Sports...I found out the hard way.

So I went out to Milan this afternoon, pretty cool time. Met some nice guys and saw some sick (and fast) cars. Ran the Edge a few runs and although I'm happy with the performance of the truck, not so much with my R/T. Please note, this is my first time on the drag strip in any car and I know practice is order with my launches. Here are my slips - car 9. Running 93 performance tune, 2,200 RPM brake boost, traction control off, 1/4 tank of gas.

How do you like "too good to be blue" color
always on edge replied to luxpow's topic in Owner Impressions
I love it. I get compliments at stop lights all the time. Kona Blue, although a beautiful color, was too 'loud' for me. To Good To Be Blue, with it's grey/green hues is curiously deep, yet subdued. -
2nd gen Edge Sport - what's everyone using as a winter set-up
always on edge replied to Burrcold's topic in Wheels & Tires
I'm running stock 21" rims for winter. I bought the additional wheel protection so, if I accidentally run up a curb or hit a pot hole , the wheels are covered.
