it is a nice color! My wife liked it alot but said since I was the one who would be the primary driver I got to pick the color. I sat in it and asked her for her honest opinion...DID IT LOOK LIKE A GIRL COLOR. She said yes, and I bought the BLACK one...lol

I agree about the lift gate. Even though I am a big guy, I think that is a ridiculous statement. WOW, some of the stupid things people whine about. Like Edgy Girl said, it would be nice to have a power lift gate, but GET A GRIP! it isnt that heavy.

I never mentioned E85. I personally agree. That is NOT the way to go. Let s get away from any type of gas. Lets look at 100% electric. It is being done already...screw these BIG oil companies!!! Lets start making American stuff again and keep it all in house.

Ford is struggling. I read an article that said they lose approximately $3000 everytime they SELL a Focus hatchback??? I think Ford needs to stop everything they are doing right now and START making all Electric/Hybrid/Hydrogen cars. They could be the big leader in this arena. If they make affordable, sporty and reliable vehicles, they will blow their competition out of the water. I feel like I am beating a dead horse here, :beatdeadhorse: but it also makes me feel like I have some sort of LEMON as well. Let me try and say this in a way that is easy enough for EVERYONE to comprehend. My mpg has gone up slightly since my 1st 2-3 tanks of gas (which were 12-13mpg) I am getting about 15mpg normal daily commute. Not city, not Highway. stop and go driving. I have been BABYING this car since my first few tanks of gas (remember, the 12-13 mpg??) Well, I guess that has really helped.... The only time I might actually GET ON the gas, is if I am pulling out and realize someone is going faster or comes out of no where. Other than that(which is RARE) I have been listening to slow calming music and driving very VERY OLD LADY LIKE! I DO NOT IDLE A LOT. I do not warm my car up. I have been trying to do everything that was recommended for better fuel economy. UNFORTUNATELY, my mpg are no where near what others are claiming. I sit here and read all these claims and I seriously feel like puking!!! I do not have an on board computer reading my mpg, I do it manually EVERY TANK. I record all my numbers at www.fueleconomy.gov and I am almost at 5,000 miles. I had a few tanks that were 16mpg and I started to get slightly excited that maybe, just maybe my luck was changing? Then my last tank went back to 15mpg and I actually had about 40% highway on that tank! I am completely disgusted with my numbers. gas is $3/gallon and rising. I did not THINK I bought a PRIUS! But I did see the 18 city and 25 highway and thought I would be closer than I am. If I could give the Edge back I would have already done it. I know I am stuck so I will suck it up and try not to respond to these mileage threads anymore! As much as I love the vehicle itself I am obsessed with watching my fuel gauge every time I get in it. Maybe it will get STOLEN!!! Enjoy your OUSTANDING mpg, but remember there are people who are getting CRAP mpg as well. :violin:

Maybe thats why i have not noticed the glare people were speaking of? I had my fronts tinited to match the backs almost within a week of buying it. That could have reduced my glare...?

She is CUTE! We are expecting our first little one (well not till December). I hope he/she will be cleaning my Edge like yours does...lol

I do think that sntmods makes a good point. The fuel recommended is 87 octane. My buddy has a Murano and they say you should use a 91 octane or better. He still uses 87 because he is cheap, I am not sure what if any effect that will have on his engine, but if he were to use the recommended 91+ he would be paying alot more for his gas than I am for mine. He is getting roughly 19-21 mpg on his Murano.

OMG LIES! lol, well maybe it is me being up North...with hills and all? I am averaging 15mpg. Best tank so far has been 17 worst tank was 12.4. I have the FWD too, which is claimed to get better MPG compared to the AWD. Either way my last few tanks have been between 15 and 16.7 So I guess I am almost to my "optimal" I have over 4000 miles on it now and have yet to do a FULL highway tank. I am looking forward to that test. It feels like it will do well on the highway? Good luck. (maybe you could just buy mine from me ) My opinion....with gas going to $3/gallon and climbing, I would have NEVER bought this vehichle. I wasnt thinking clearly and gas was 2.18 when I bought it in February...To each his own though!

Well I just got 16.7 mpg on my last tank. This was pretty much all stop and go driving. No real highway. I am getting closer to my goal. and you nailed that one right on the head npggirl....They are saying by summer gas will be around $3.50/gallon and some places will be over $4.00 (prolly CA?) YIKES!!! Well NOW I wish I bought the prius or Yaris...Thank God I have a motorcycle to ride all summer long.

There are a lot of very good chrome polishes out there... Never Dull Polish Bomsaway Mother's Chrome Polish Liquid Glass Autosol These are directly from folks on my motorcycle forum. And people who have Motorcycles KNOW how to clean chrome!!! I have a bottle of Fast And Furious Chrome cleaner, it works great also. Mythbusters cleaned an old chrome bumper with aluminum foil and Coke. It worked the best, even against the commercial stuff. I'd be worried about putting foil against chrome, but if chrome is tougher than aluminum, maybe there's nothing to worry about....

Well I just noticed another thing that I am a little upset about. I have stainless steel exhaust tips...which actually feel more like exhaust (not tips as in easily removed) Does anyone know if Ford has these as an add on accessory? I felt around for a sec, but I did not get down and look at the exhaust, but it sure feels like you get what you get. They didnt feel like tips that I could remove... Am I stuck with them? Thanks

Looks like AFTERMARKET is it. Ford does not offer them at this time!!!
