  1. lmao, well if fuel is a decision in what you buy....STOP looking at the EDGE! Although my mpg's have been all over the place, the best was 17mpg and the worst was 12.3mpg. Here are my mpg's over the last 5 fill-ups. 12.3, 13.4, 17, 15.3 and 14.8. I believe I have about 1700 miles on it now? I am almost empty and will be filling up tomorrow. I have about 280 miles on this tank and I will drive it until I hit 300 or more if it means I run out on the side of the road!!!! I can not believe I do not get over 300 miles per tank! RIDICULOUS!
  2. There is nothing wrong with an after market version as long as you get a good one and have someone professional install it. Mine has been fine for years in both my Dodge Dakota, Toyota Matrix and now Ford Edge. But hey if you like to pay TOP dollar, take it to your dealer.
  3. I would like to know also, since my Edge did not come with them. I like the factory look better than a cheap knock off. Thanks
  4. I am sure you all already know this. But it isnt an iPod hookup...it is an mp3 player hookup. I freakin hate ipods! You hoook any mp3 player up using the jack and the only thing I do not like about it, is that you need to make sure the volume on your mp3 player is up as well as the volume control on the radio...
  5. Mine rolls back also, I am not a mechanic, but I think it's ok. Just keep your foot on the brake, lol
  6. This is a freakin JOKE! I have a little over 1500 miles and my mpg SUCK. I am recording them at www.fueleconomy.gov and my results are as follows. I didnt find the website for my 1st and maybe second tank, but My first tank was 12.4mpg! then it went like this: 12.3, 13.4, 17, and 15.3. the last 2 were MOSTLY highway. at least 80/20 highway. So be VERY happy that you guys are getting UNREAL numbers, because mine are horrible! I love the car but would give it back ASAP if I could. :beatdeadhorse:
  7. Yeah not a bad deal. I did however buy the 7/70,000 mile bumper to bumper ext warranty. I just can not buy anything American without getting the extra piece of mind. If the big 3 were smart they would run the programs like Hyundai and kia and make 5/60,000 BtB and 10/100,000 powertrain. I think more hesitant American car buyers would give them a try. I did work out a decent deal for my Ext Warr. I think it was around $1400, and for that long bumper to bumper I feel like it is worth every penny!
  8. Good Luck to you jrod. Sorry to hear about the layoffs....
  9. WOW, I hope you are not referring to the same 3.5L 6 speed trans. that is in the Edge??? I would not consider 12-13mpg very GOOD :beatdeadhorse: <-----SORRY!

    MPG??????

That is a good point. Pittsburgh (during winter) is much different that Florida, lol We have many hills here and from what I was told the gasoline is slightly less due to winter additives? I will continue checking and hopefully as spring arrives so will those Est. MPG numbers that were on the sticker, lol Good Luck!

    MPG??????

There appears to be some more people on the other forums who are experiencing poor mpg as I am. Like I stated. I have driven the Edge hard for a tank and followed all speed limits (actually slower most of the time) and I still have not had impressive numbers at all. I have yet to go out and do a whole tank of gas highway trip. and I just turned 1500 miles or so on the odomoter, so the engine does need to break in... IF I could just get 16-17 mpg on a regular basis I would not be upset at all. Thats all I was getting on my Jeep Liberty. And gas prices just started climbing back up since I purchased this Gas HOG, go figure! Dont get me wrong, I wasnt being Mr. Green buying a 6cyl 265 hp 4000lb vehicle. But I would NOT have bought it, if the sticker said avg mpg 13/18 You can bet on that!

    MPG??????

Well, here is my fuel numbers. I am not too thrilled at all. I believe the best mpg I did so far was a little over 17mpg and that was mostly highway. I have gotten a few 12 - 13 mpg tanks and the last one was 15mpg and that was about 50/50 city/highway. When I say city, I am not driving in typical sitand wait traffic. I am doing some stop and go driving but it is more suburbia driving. I also have tried driving like an old lady for a tank (which yielded me 13.44 mpg) and I drove it like I stole it (somewhere in the 12's mpg) I am also hoping that it improves with engine break in. Although, a friend said dont expect much better than I am getting now....maybe 1 mpg better???? Fuel Purchase Records 02/18/2007 221.00 - miles traveled 18.000 - gallons of gas 40.50 - cost 80% City 20% highway 12.3 mpg 02/23/2007 206.90 15.390 36.16 80% 20% 13.4 $.40/gallon Discount (1.95/gal) 02/28/2007 292.80 17.200 2.39 30% 70% 17.0 03/03/2007 258.00 16.901 2.49 50% 50% 15.3 you can see all this at: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/mpg/MPG.do?action=garage
  13. Thanks. I figured I would update this post just a little since I found a few other Edge Forums. I posted this on another one. Minus the picture (which is in my previous post here. --------------------Here is My $.02------------------------ So far so good. Poopy mpg, but I am getting tired of whining about that now. it's a fwd with roof rails, sirius radio, drivers side keypad entry and all weather floormats. I have recently had the front windows tinted and after I get the Diamond gloss from Zeibart I will post some sweet pics. Overall I love the way the car feels and drives. I wish that a few things were STANDARD on all Edge's. 1. The quick release button in the cargo area for the back seats. 2. The front flat folding passenger seat. 3. Fog lights 3. The Vista Roof. SINCE, this is a MAJOR beakthrough, they shouldnt really make any of these Vehicles without it! I also Cannot stand the location of the dimmer/interior light switch. WOW, is that sucker hard to find at night.
  14. Hi all I am a month old Edge Daddy. So far I love the vehicle other than my MPG. I don't want to start off whining here though, give me a few days.... It's a 2007 Edge FWD. It has the roof rails, the keypad entry on driver door satellite radio and all season floormats.
