  1. ty. Man Hodge your grand am looks pretty sweet. I was never a big Grand Am fan but those tires and your tinit with the LED's or Neon....great job! I think maybe I will stick to the 18's maybe 20's maybe? I really like the chrome wheels on the MkX's will they fit the Edges?
  2. What if any difference would the 20's or 22's have on mpg's? I think they both look sweet, especially that tricked out one with 22's And how does it handle with those size wheels (both local and highway) Thanks. Oh and get some pics in here once you do everything SALEEN!
  3. I see what you are saying... From FORD they are only available on AWD models. They will fit any Edge. I guess that is where I was confused. They are pretty Sharp though. I like these also.... Well it won't show the ones I like. But they are the O.Z. Sardegna 20's and they look like this:
  4. I doubt that is accurate info. If it fits the AWD it will fit the FWD. As long as we are talking 17" ---> 17" or 18" ---> 18". They are the same thing? Unless I hear otherwise, I am going to assume someone misled you. No big deal, I have been looking at many different wheels available for the Edge on tirerack.com and other various sites.
  5. WHY would they be available only on the AWD models? The tire sizes are the same on the FWD??
  6. Well how about fog lights. They are not available if you do not already have them when you buy the Edge. Which I do not, so I guess I have to look to the "after-market" ? I couldnt believe that.
  7. The only unusual noise I have heard is when I have my heater on 3 or 4 and the position is both head and feet. I hear a strange noise...almost like a piece of paper is stuck somewhere in there. I will have them check it out when I get an oil change (very soon.) I bet that thingy is why my mpg's aren't as good as sim's......lol!!! jk
  8. retunes of the stock pcm. Wouldnt that also help increase mpg's? I know it usually helps increase HP but from what I have read in different forums the mpg may also increase? I am definitely interested in what you are talking about. Keep us all posted. Thanks.
  9. Yeah me too! I thought that they were....After that 14.8 in my previous post, here are my next 3 fill ups. 16.2, 16.6 and 15mpg. These mpg's are pretty much all local driving, not a whole lot of highway. I too am not a heavy footed driver. The only time I might really get on the gas is when pulling out and it looks like I need a little extra. Other than that, I am a pretty steady calm driver.... @ pinemeadows - 21.5mpg? How about not using the computer. Fill it up. Set tripodometer to 0, drive until next fill up. Re-fill. Then take the miles you drove and divide the gallons you refilled. Then give me numbers. I really do not want to sound like I am calling people Liars....But 15-16mpg for me, and others are getting 19-22 city/local driving? That just doesnt sound right to me. I guess maybe location has a lot to do with it. I live in a more hilly area and it is colder right now? So you folks who live in flat areas probably would get better mpg than us that live in mountainous areas?
  10. $95??? That should be a "complimentary" thing. It should be freakin standard and if people request it they shouldn't have to drop 100 bones to get it. Heck give me directions I will switch it on myself! grrrrrrrrrrr
  11. Hey suzeq927, once you resolve that whole mpg thing and get "what you paid for", please be kind enough to share that info with the rest of us who desire better mpg, lol Good LUCK!
  12. That doesnt look just plug and play. Looks a little more detailed than you made it sound? There are some wires there. Could you maybe give us a write up on what exactly you did. It sounds like a bunch of us are interested. Thanks.
  13. So if I bought these off EBAY and tried to do the install as you have done NYEdge, all I need to do is remove old headrests replace with new headrests and how much wiring am I looking at? Thanks, I like to "try" to be hands on, but I am somewhat of a mechanical moron...lol
  14. capnkirk52, maybe you should continue reading the forums. and some of the other Edge forums. I am definitely not in the minority...That is great that you got 24.8 on the highway. What are your local driving numbers? (I have yet to actually do a full highway trip.) Here are a few other sites, read what other people are getting for mpg on their Edge's. I think you will find that you may be in the MINORITY. http://www.fordedge.org/ http://www.myfordedge.com/ and I use this one to record my mpg every tank. I wish everyone would https://www.fueleconomy.gov/mpg/MPG.do?Fill...30892#addAnchor Did you not see the numbers just in this thread that Edgy and ug.mac posted? Well, I truly would hope I bought the worst Edge ever if I continue to get poor mpg. I just think it should be better. I am closing in on the 3000 mile mark. Whats up with the suggested 7500 mile oil change? I was thinking about 5000 miles, but correct me if I am wrong the book said every 7500 miles? Oh well....Keep living on the Edge (of the gas stations, lol)
  15. Thanks to all of you. This is some good stuff. We need to keep info like this coming. I look forward to pics and reviews of that dash mat. Sounds like a decent add on. I am also going to check out those links you provided sim. Oh my commute is a lot better also. I dont mind racking up the miles, but it hurts when I pull into the pumps...I am starting to feel like I have an obsessive compulsive disorder, I keep watching my fuel gage go down. Other than that I am very happy driving my Edge.
  16. That is one thing that really ticks me off. 2007 and with all the freaking HYPE they gave the Edge, they couldnt do a passive start system standard on ALL models? Seriously. The power rear liftgate would have been nice as well, and I still feel that the back seat release button should be STANDARD on all Edge's - I mean the freakin' slot for the buttons is there, just put it in...

    New

Chrome What? What are colleums? I dont have AWD either, it seemed to do pretty decent in the 2 snowstorms I drove it in. NO Where near as well as an AWD would have, but I was fine. ICE is a whole different animal. You should be ok with FWD.
  18. Yes there is a space for the fog lights. I might just look for some real nice aftermarket ones? YIKES, I would not be thrilled about drilling into the body. Definitely try and seal the freshly drilled holes somehow. (clear nail polish?) Oh and Tell me more about this bumper protector? It reads Edge, where did you get it and how much was it? Also could you maybe post a pic of it installed so i can get a visual. Thanks. Also, I dont have a BAMR, can I get that installed as an accessory add on? (lol)
  19. What about fog lights? Mine doesnt have any and I would like to add them. I think I like the factory ones but maybe I should look around...
  20. Looks interesting. Ziebart also does a thing called Diamond Gloss, it is Something they recommend annually. It is somewhere between $199-249 first time then $99 every year after that, it is pricey But it looks fantastic. I know a local guy that does Detailing (for over 15 years now) and he said if you just get a good wash wax buff every 6 months using a good wax you will keep your car looking like new? He charges $55 for his Detail. So, is $70 too much? Well even if it works Half as good as the advertisement says, sounds like it is worth a try. How about keeping us posted if you do buy it. We might follow your lead.
  21. Well, I look at my tripometer and then I see how many gallons of gas I pump. Then, I divide the miles I travelled by the gallons of fuel I used. then I re-set the tripometer and do it all over again. so, if I have 280 on my tripometer and I put in 17 gallons of fuel that gives me...16.47 mpg. I do not have an on board computer and I wouldnt trust those numbers even if I did. I would still calculate on my own as well. I am also entering all the data at www.fueleconomy.gov and they ask all the questions and it calculates it there for you. There is a notes section and I am using that for the specific gas stations I use when I fill up. (Sunoco, BP, Exxon, GetGo, etc...) I hope that answered your question.

    MPG??????

great kmac, I too report my Fuel consumption at www.fueleconomy.gov So we should start seeing some more Edges on there!
  23. Thanks. One more question. I notice that you have the nav system in your dash. Is that a necessity to run the 2 rear DVD's? I currently do not have that (hopefully soon). So I was just wondering if there was an order i needed to follow.
  24. That looks freaking AWESOME! I do not have kids or many backseat passengers, so not very practical for me, but great job! Now I do have a question or two about the headlights. Could you please tell me what exactly you did? I do not have any foglights right now. I hope to add them soon though. But I am always interested in getting better night time lighting. (the stock highbeams appear to work super compared to the last several cars I drove) Thanks
