  1. Here is my 2020 vs 2021 ST story. Picked up new 2020 ST with 401A, ST Performance Brake Package, Cold Weather Package, and Rapid Red Paint. MSRP with dealer $199 tinted windows was $53,134. Total discounts/rebates/sales tax credit on trade-in was $13,500. That plus my excellent condition very low mileage 2016 Sport trade-in resulted in $19,698 on the road out of pocket costs to me. I thought this was a pretty good deal. The vehicle had been at the dealership for 133 days. Would have liked the 2021 ST with revised 7 Speed transmission, 12" Infotainment screen, and Sync 4, but no where near the price of my 2020. Understand the 2020 was already considered to be a year old from a value standpoint. Like that the 2020 ST is more sports tuned than my previous 2016 Sport and the additional 20HP and 30 foot pounds of torque. The more I drive it the more I like it. The build date was 11/2020 which is pretty late in the model year I would think. PS: I read about the 8-Speed vs 7-Speed second gear removal and it didn't seem to make that much difference. Thanks for the info on the 12" screen, I also prefer tactile feedback.
  2. Thank You. Yes, this is the upgraded brake package which includes 21" wheels. No plans for debadging or anything else like a tune etc. I like it just the way it is. ST Performance Brake Package $2,695 list price on the window sticker. • 21” Premium Gloss Black-Painted Aluminum Wheels • Front and Rear Vented Disc Brakes with Unique Front Rotors (13.6” size) • Brake Calipers – Painted Colorado Red • Brushless Radiator Cooling Fan • Performance Brake Pads • Summer Only Tires • Vented Brake Shields Note: Includes Tire Inflator and Sealant Kit with the Summer Only Tires
  3. Both myself (2016 Edge Sport) and my niece (2017 Explorer Sport) bought ESP warranty's from Anderson & Koch. The contract stipulates ESP PremiumCare. I also confirmed the ESP coverage with my local Ford dealer service advisor. Mine: Purchased on 01-15-17 2016 Edge Ext. Warr. 8 yrs 60k miles (don't drive many miles) ESP PremiumCARE Plan. $1,110 + $60 for interior/exterior lights coverage = $1,170 Suggest calling: Jeremy Klund - Business Mgr - 651-674-4465 - 800-758-3673 - 651-674-5032 F Anderson & Koch Po Box 158 North Branch, MN 55056
  4. I researched Ford extended warranty's in Jan. 2017 after my purchase of a 2016 Edge Sport in Dec. 2016. Anderson Koch Ford was the best price at the time. I did not purchase the Edge there. I understand online extended warranty pricing can change between Ford dealers at any time. Here are my notes from my purchase. Please note, I drive low miles annually so take this into account in the pricing. I also added the extra cost light/bulb package for all inside and outside lights for an additional $60. The LED lighting, especially on the rear hatch can be expense to replace as Ford does not replace individual LED lights but replaces the entire LED assembly. MY NOTES 01-15-17 2016 Edge Ext. Warranty. 8 yrs 60k miles ESP PremiumCARE Plan. $1,110 + $60 - interior/exterior lights = $1,170 . Anderson & Koch Ford. 5577 St. Croix Trial North Branch, MN. 651-674-4465 - 800-758-3673 http://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/Jeremy Klund. Jeremy was very easy to work with I would recommend him. Jeremy stated they sell extended warranty's in volume at a low markup which is how they can offer lower prices. I also called a Ford Fleet Manager friend of mine to solicit a quote and shared the Anderson Koch price and he said "buy it", so I did. Ford Extended Service Plan HQ - P.O. Box 6045 Dearborn, MI 48121 - 800-521-4144. REPLY FROM ANDERSON KOCH AFTER PURCHASE 01-15-2017 - https://andersonandkoch-ford-warranty.com/forms/thank_you.php Thank you. Your contract will be mailed to you within ten business days. Customer Id: XXXX. Changed from the official id. Response code: Approved Approval code: 191555 Transaction id: 20364839055 You card has been approved. Please keep your Customer ID and Transaction ID for your records. ALSO: My niece purchased a 2017 Explorer Sport and she also purchased extended warranty from Anderson Koch for close to half of what her dealer quoted. ALSO - I facilitated a 2018 Honda Accord purchase for my good friend and neighbor and she not only got a good purchase price, but also an online extended warranty from a Honda dealer in the Eastern U.S. for slightly half of the local dealer price. Ford is not the only only one to sell at lower online prices.
  5. I have a 2016 Edge Sport (June 2016 build date and purchased in Dec. 2016) and I really like the Adaptive Steering. In April 2017 I started receiving - Adaptive Steering Fault Service Required" repetitively and the AS feature stops working. Many other owners have experienced this problem (not sure if any 2017 Sports have this problem. My fix was a new steering wheel and no problems since then. Nothing twitchy on the road with my AS - but the Lane Departure Warning feature sometimes torques the steering wheel to one side or the other (somewhat unexpectedly) even if you are not close to leaving your current lane. I have the most sensitive setting on this feature set.so that may explain it. I believe this feature reads the little makers embedded in the road to determine your lane position. Overall, very happy with the vehicle's performance and technology.
  6. Here is a video I found on the Edge AS. Not as good as the F250 video at the dealer but still informative. The F250 video might be under the F250 section. I didn't realize there is multiple AS versions. I thought only Normal and Sport but you can select Sport in Sport mode and gain another level of AS handling/function. View the video to see. https://owner.ford.com/content/ford-dot-com/en/how-tos/vehicle-features/convenience-and-comfort/adaptive-steering.html
  7. New steering wheel resolved all the fault issues. I quite like the Adaptive Steering functionality at low speed. Ford has a video (on the F250) at my dealer that shows how the AS works - they quote a 30% reduction in steering wheel turning effort at low speed.
  8. As pointed out there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for this issue. TSB 16-2085 - Effective Dec 2 2016 2015-2016 Edge/2016 MKX - Left Rear Seat Backrest Does Not Fold Down When Using The Second Row Seat Control Switch - Built On Or Before 9-Sep-2016 I took my 2016 Sport for service for this issue on May 8, 2017. Attached is the dealer work order showing the work, parts installed and comments. After the service/parts install (a washer and a bolt), were installed, the closing issue still looks to be about the same. It does appear to close a bit faster, but still not flush like the right seat. So I am just going to live with it. It's not a major inconvenience. I did take it back to service advisor after the work was done and showed him not much improvement (he agreed), just to get it on record. Sorry the attached PDF Dealer work order is not in vertical (but horizontal viewing) format as that is how I took the pic to ensure all the work order details would be viewable.
  9. My work order shows .3 on the line item for the air bag recall work (I assume this is .3 of one hour).
  10. I test drove a 2016 Titanium with the 2.0 and noticed the same noise. The sales person said it was the the design/operation of the injectors. I opted to purchase a 2016 Edge Sport with the 2.7L and no issues with the engine sound from the outside. Quite a bit more HP/Torque with the 2.7 - 315/350 and a 3.19 rear axle ratio. More dollars too but happy with the purchase.
  11. Received second letter, scheduled for Monday 7/10. Will also update after update. Plus New USB 2-Port hub for Apple Car Play to be installed at the same time ($85 labor quote from service advisor - no programming involved - plug & play install). Bought hub at parts department a few weeks ago. FYI - had new steering wheel installed a few weeks ago to resolve Adaptive Steering fault. No problems so far. Upgraded Synch 3 to 2.2 version to permit Apple Car Apple Car Play and that upgrade went well. But i have noticed when selecting from the steering wheel remote advance channel to the next the next favorite Sirius satellite channel - it sometimes won't advance to the next channel at all. To resolve I turn off/on the radio and that seems to resolve the problem. Prior to 2.2 upgrade, I never experienced this problem.
  12. I used to use the Battery Tenders for years but recently changed to using the BatteryMINDer product. I have the 1510 model. https://www.amazon.com/BatteryMINDer-1510-Battery-Charger/dp/B00Q3CM2QY This product has a desulfator which desulfates the battery cells resulting in longer life. At least that's the claim. This model is highly rated at multiple web sites. What's in the box: BatteryMINDer charger/maintainer/desulfator system, RT-2415 Ring Terminal Assembly with Quick Connector, BC-AA Insulated battery clips, Ambient temperature sensor (installed), Optional permanent mounting tab
  13. Forgot too add: Adaptive Cruise/Collision Warning is not included in 401A and is a separate package as quoted in an earlier post- priced at $1,150 for 2016 Sports if I recall correctly.
  14. Agree with the postings from the others. I own a 2016 Sport with 401A and personally would not buy a Sport without the 401A. $3k or so ok, but $5k no. As stated by others, suggest continue to shop around and/or expand the search area.
