  1. I'm working on getting the sony 12 speaker sound up to snuff -- one pain point in it is the stock sub -- I don't know if the sub itself is not up to snuff or the high pass filter on it is dialed down way to low, but I really only hear the bassiest bass notes out of it, which while not bad leaves some to be desired on the low end. I have dual underseat subs that can take either a line level or speaker level signal from my last vehicle, and I've got some experience building t-harnesses, I'm just trying to figure out where to tap into the system so that the underseat subs can be controlled with the balance/fade/volume. I see in a post from HappyHourSport that the DSP has four audio inputs, FL, FR, RL, RR, and splits it to several outputs. If possible, I'd prefer to just grab audio from these four wires prior to the DSP, as I want to just use the high pass filter in built into my under-seat-subs without the need to do any summing. Does anyone know if the wires between the ACM and DSP module are speaker level signals that are modulated by balance/fade/volume settings, or are they all line level signals that are of a constant loudness (which the DSP then applies the balance/fade/volume settings to)? Essentially I'm wanting to just do the below, but don't know if that's gonna work here.
  2. @JScaro Awesome, Also, thank you again for taking the time to reply to a three year old thread!
  3. @HappyHourSport, I know I'm asking in a 7 year old thread how you did something on a car you might not even have anymore, but if you do happen to remember, how did you tap into the audio signal? It looks like going to the Sony DSP there are four distinct signals, LF, RF, LR, and RR, but after the DSP it's split out into a whole bunch of other signals for independent speakers. Did you tap the wires upstream of the DSP, or down stream of the DSP? And then, the DSP is downstream of the amp, right? So regardless of where you tap the wires, they are all speaker level inputs, right? Thank you!
  4. @JScaro Ok, so when you replaced the sub and sub amp, did you tap those wires, or just use the existing wiring?
  5. I know this is a super old thread, but quick question. @JScaro, how did you tap into the signal? It looks like going to the Sony DSP there are four distinct signals, LF, RF, LR, and RR, but after the DSP it's split out into a whole bunch of other signals for independent speakers. Did you tap the wires upstream of the DSP, or down stream of the DSP? And then, the DSP is downstream of the amp, right? So reguardless of where you tap the wires, they are all speaker level inputs, right?
  6. I like my music bumpin. I'm not much of a stranger to installing subs, but do have a few questions about my '17 edge sport. I'm looking to install a pair of compact subwoofers under the passenger and driver seats. In order to do that, I need to know a few things. I was hoping someone might have this info handy? If so I'll do a with pictures write up of the entire install process. 1.) What does getting a power cable into the cab look like? In my old escape there was a small rubber plug in the drivers foot well I was able to pop out and drill a hole through for the power wire -- is there something for the edge that is similar? 2.) Where does the factory speaker system ground to? 3.) Does anyone have a wiring pinout of the connector for the radio? I plan on getting some molex plugs and building a t-tap connector to take audio signals through the center console to underneath each seat, but which can be removed entirely as necessary.

Any chance you could post a video of what going through the various menus and huds looks like?
  8. @Livewire The parts you're looking for are EM2Z-14F680-A and EM2Z-14F680-B. Please be aware that while the part ending in -A will be a direct fit, the part ending in -B will require some creative mounting, as the mount points aren't there for the flat style ribbon sensor (at least they weren't on my '17 sport). After thoroughly cleaning the surface I used double sided 3m molding tape and a crap ton of carefully applied electrical tape. Concerning the cutout for the hitch -- I wasn't able to figure out a great way to use the included bumper insert, I just started out really slowly. There are some marks on the interior of the bumper that are good for tracing and give you a not half bad cutout. For anyone who's looking into this; it's a really easy job, but figuring out how to actually get the bumper cover OFF can be a little tricky -- You'll do the 10 bolts on the bottom, then 4 (5?) bolts per wheel well for the bumper. After that, there are clips around the wheel well and seems below the tail lights (pictured). I started by gently prying at the seam nearest the wheel well, then up around the tail light -- I'm not sure if you actually have to take out the tail lights, but it's a whole lot easier if you do; but then you've gotta get a kid/neighbor wife to hold the taillight so it doesn't fall and strain it's wires or scratch your paint. Once you've got these bolts and clips undone, there are two more christmas-tree pins on either side. They can be pretty easily popped out by grabbing the bottom of the bumper near the exhaust hole and gently pulling out from the car, for my car all the wiring went through a pigtail on the drivers side, and while it's pretty beefy, be careful not to strain it too much either.
  9. I just purchased a 17 edge sport, and in the process of doing so have added a hitch. I unplugged the sensors, but since then have realized for the week or two I had it, I was using the crap out of the kick sensor. I'd like it to be toggleable a little more conveniently than digging out a laptop or plugging in the switch. In my search i found later models do have the kick sensor as an option in the settings in the instrument cluster. Given that there appears to be a software switch for this, is it possible that there is also a software switch to show that option in the IC on earlier years?
  10. I purchased a 2017 edge sport yesterday. The original owner had the factory dvd-headrests put in it, which might be nice if I had kids and might be nicer if I weren't worried about someone breaking a window and just yoinking them entirely (I work in that part of town). The car came with the originals and I'll just pack away the fancy ones until kids are an issue. I've been doing some reading and for other years people talk about taking off the seat back in order to access the power wire; I assume there's a zipper or Velcro or something, but I'm just completely missing it I guess. Any idea on how to get into the wiring?
  11. @Sivicsi420 or @TheTurboEdge, I'm looking at adding a hitch to my new-to-me 2017 sport using your instructions. Any suggestions on doing the OE wiring harness? Also, of I do get the harness, do you know if I'll need an ecu flash? Thank you for the writeups you've provided this far!
