  1. if you got it from a dealership i would tell them to take care of it. i believe there is a law that they have to include a 30 day 500-1000 mile warranty. The backlight could just be a bulb out, but IMO its not worth changing. sat radio is part of the "bands" of the radio (am/fm/sat).
  2. isoprem, what dvd are you going to install? The reason i ask, thre is a harness to obtain the sync. However to make it work you need a dvd with an aux. input. here is the harness: http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=919&CategoryID=26 it costs $250. This is why its a better deal just to invest in a radio with the bluetooth, and ipod since that is what sync really is. Not to mention you get a radio with it, then you control it all through that. With this you will have a control module that you do the sync functions through. I you have the basic radio in the 09 its an easy swap. the harness is only like 15-20 then. dashkit, and antenna adaptor. about 50 or so for all
  3. just because people dont respond in a day you dont need to bump your own threads. we need more info about your product? is this an over head dvd with screen or what? me personally i would wire it directly to the ignition harness for the 12+ and accy. and put a fuse inline on each. Domelight you can tap into the light, however you need to know if your input to the dvd needs to be + or -, also then you need to figure out if the domelight is + or -.
  4. yes, but why bother if the dvd has bluetooth? first you need to make sure your new radio has an aux input. then you need the special harness that costs about 200 or more. If you new radio has bluetooth just get an ipod adaptor for it. and then you can get a cheaper harness. All sync is is bluetooth and ipod/usb.
  5. Short answer Not a factory unit. You would have to go with a aftermarket unit. and then you loose the ability to control it through the factory radio.
  6. maybe a bad element on the seat is causing it to get too hot and wont start until its back down in temp
  7. They should also have your info if you bought the car new. ford sends them your info. PS they are one of the worse companies for harassing phone calls if you cancel your service.
  8. Yes that is an option. Is your case you would install that into the pass door. that way both switches (drivers and pass) will be the one-touch. If you only install it in the drivers door, but on the pass wires it will only be the one touch on the drivrs switch.
  9. no offense, but the name says it all. Jensen... you get what you pay for....
  10. ^^^ mine does that too. i just close the shade partially and then re-open it and its gone for a while
  11. Yes warranty-able, however you will just get another factory speaker. aftermarket you will get much better sound. No it will not void any warranty. Dealer may try and say that if you install something aftermarket it will void the warranty. There is a law against this (magnusson/moss act spelling may be off). It states that if the aftermarket accessory is not directly related to the issue they have to preform the warranty work. So in your case they wont be able to warranty the speaker.
  12. anything can happen for a price.. you are talking thousands though. nothing is in place.
  13. Short answer is NO the 11 are re-designed and will not work
  14. All edges until 2011 are the same. However to do a sat radio install the large bezel in the center of the dash just pops off. it may be a little tough if its never been removed before. all the wires needed are right behind the radio.
  15. your mic will be going to the sync module. you will need to find it and maybe be able to use the wire there. orelse you can put the pioneer mic into the mirror also. Once you pull out the radio you will see the gps and the radio antenna. gps may or may not depending on what manu made the factory radio (sony, pioneer). If you want it to mute for the parking assist what i would do is relay off the reverse lights to break the accessory power wire for the pioneer, unless the pioneer has a "mute wire" then you can go to that.
  16. yup mine has it too. go figure when i had the service advisor drive he could feel it....
  17. 1. look online and figure it out. Sorry its ILLEGAL in all 50 states to have it bypassed while the vehicle is in motion. Legally it could come back to the people that tell you if something was to happen. 2. vss wire. most until will work if you dont hook it up. however if the antenna looses signal (like going through a tunnel) it wont be as accurate as it would be if hooked up. as for a location. my tech sheets say at the wiper motor (purple/orange wire) or at the PCM same color.
  18. I have 2 12" jl subs and from the outside you cant see a thing. I custom built a box that goes around the spare. Spare tire is still in place. it did lift the trunk floor up about 2". I made a new cover and called it good.
  19. more than likely the factory one will be controlled through the SJB (smart junction box). So this will have to be re-programmed. You will need the plastic panel in the rear, the actuator, switch, switch bezel (when no lift its just a flat spot on the dash), wiring, any mounting hardware for the actuator As for the parts i would look into a totaled vehicle. The question is how much do you want to spend? anything can happen for a price. I personally dont see it happening for less than 1500-2000.
  20. that directed piece above is the way to fo. a lot cheaper than factory stuff. i have installed them before and no one ever had any issues. i wouldnt doubt that the factory will also have to be programmed also.
  21. In able to keep sync you will need the sync retention harness. However depends on the aftermarket unit you buy it may come with all the sync functions built in (bluetooth and ipod/usb). The sync retention harnesses are about $200-250. IMO dont worry about sync and just get the harness that you will need. If you want to retain your steering wheel controls (if you have them) you will need a module for that also. They go for abotu $80-125.
  22. here are some pioneers: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_m25_i321_pioneer--in-dash-gps-navigation.html
  23. if you have a factory unit now you may be disappointed with that unit you have shown. its basically a "china" made factory look-a-like. yes it does offer functions like the dvd, ipod... For that kind of money i would look in to a brand name like alpine, pioneer, kenwood.
  24. you need one of these: http://www.coastaletech.com/synclockpick.htm there may be other brands out on the market too.
  25. Depends on the sound. I did 6 1/2" components up front with a 200 x 2 amp powering them. along with a 400 x 1 amp for 2 12" woofers. Deck power is powering the factory rear speakers.
