I agree with Choff. For the first time in my life I did a private sale of my used car when I bought my 11 SEL and won't do it any other way now. I got several thousand more than a trade in. Also, if you fix the price of the new vehicle, you are stuck with what they offer you for the trade in at time of sale. What are you going to do if they offer you a really, really terrible price for the trade in then? You might have mentioned it previously, but what about waiting for what you want to be on a dealer's lot? I ordered from the factory, but there was no commitment that I buy when it came in and I didn't put any money down. They did this because I wasn't ordering a strange combination, they knew they could sell it.

Wow,I guess that's what happens when you get a 3.7 or AWD. I have an 11 SEL and I have been getting about 24 combined, about 75% highway. My last tank was just under 26. these are calculations, with the car always saying about 2 mpg lower than what I am calculating.

I've had the same thing with the steering wheel volume! About 4 times. I tried to make it happen and video tape it for proof but couldn't. Now I keep my camera in the console. today I just got video of the iPod touch very briefly, but a lot of times in a song, "skipping", like an old record. I can't tell if it is skipping or just blanking out a very brief piece of the song, but I got it with 2 songs. Because they are intermittent problems, I want proof when I take it to the dealer.

I don't know about the effects of a Montreal winter, but from what I understand, in the last 20 years or so because of the manufacturing process where the car is basically "dipped", there should no longer be a reason to get further rust proofing. I have also heard that anything a dealer installs does nothing. Now, after a car is about 15 years old and has possibly gotten some dents or scratches where rust can take hold, that is another story, but here in St. Louis where we get some snow/salt, I have not rustproofed any of the 4 new cars I have bought in the last 21 years and never had rust appear on any of them.

My Travel Link has worked fine from day one. I don't know if the salesman configured/set anything up before I picked up the car, but the only thing he did when I was there was pair up my Blackberry.

My iPod Touch works fine with MFT, album covers included.

I've had my 2011 SEL for 2 weeks this coming Friday. On the last tank, the computer says 23 and I calculated 25. Mostly highway. I like those numbers since it is about 10-15% better than I was getting on my 06 Escape

In a lot of the media lately about the re-making of Lincoln, one of the items that has come up a lot is the similarilties between Lincolns and Fords, and Lincoln buyers are paying more for the same thing. Similarly, when I bought my Edge at a FLM dealership, my wife looked at an MKX and the sales guy said he doesn't understand why people buy it for 10k more for basically the exact same thing. He even said he steers people towards the Edge rather than the MKX. Now.... from reading prior posts, it seems as if there are some differences that people may care about. From what I recall, the Lincoln had controls that you slide your finger along a line, that neither the salesman nor my wife liked. With Fords having new technologies, FOMOCO faces the problem of differentiating Lincoln. It may be even a greater challenge when Ford and Lincoln are in the same building and buyers can see the similarities/differences much easier.

I still have to pay registration and sales tax at the dept. of revenue. That will be about $2k

When I ordered, it seemed as if the only one available used an adhesive, didn't slip under the edges. Anybody know if the one with the adhesive can be removed and replaced at a later date?

My SEL was sticker of 34,660. 1910 off of sticker, 1500 rebate Final 31250. No doc fee, or it's probably more accurate to say that they built that into the $ off sticker

Sorry to hear about your problems. I have an 11 SEL and have had no problems with NAv, BT, iPod, Travel link or anything. Salesman paired my phone and did the setup of nav, if that has anything to do with it.

As the young people would say "OMG". Ads are on every site, I don't even notice them. If that is all you have to complain about, you need to get a hobby.

My 11 Edge was manufactured the week of Sept 27, I picked it up this past Friday. Everything, including Travel Link works fine. Dealer hadn't set anything up prior. When I showed up, salesman peeled off the plastic on the main screen, paired my Blackberry, we plugged in my iPod touch, he took Nav card out of box and plugged it in, we called people, looked at traffic and weather, set favorites on radio and Sirius. All is well

Took delivery Friday. Everything with My Ford Touch and Sync working fine, but I can't figure out wallpaper. I saved a pic from a jump drive and saved as wallpaper. The picture appears but then disappears when I do other stuff and I never see it again. When I turn the car on and off, I get the Ford logo. When should the wallpaper appear and am I setting it right?

I received mixed answers, too. I thought I could just order the SD card since I had My Ford Touch. 2 sales guys told me no, so I ordered my Edge with it from the factory. It just came in yesterday and the salesman told me that it can be added after the car was built. Not that it mattered because they didn't have anything in stock with what I wanted.

Edge SEL arrived at the dealer today. The salesman demonstrated everything and I will pick it up Friday. NAV, iPod touch, Sirius travel link, pairing up Blackberry.....everything worked fine.

About 3 weeks after I ordered, I emailed the salesman and asked for a status. He emailed me back with the information.

I think all dealers say 6-8 weeks. Mine was ordered on Sept 7, made on the 27th, on the train on the 28th and I am waiting for it to show up, was told Oct. 10. I may have just been lucky

$7000? Where are you getting that number from? I could look it up but I believe the base SE is 28 something k. I am getting an SEL with touch, navigation and whatever is in the optional package for a little under 32k

Wilson, thanks for the approximate shipping time. I am in St. Louis and dealer expects it on Oct 10 so that is about 2 weeks, too.

Can anybody direct me to anything official that says nav can be added at any time if the Edge has My Ford Touch? I would like to throw it back at the salesman. I could be driving my Edge by now but have to wait about 6 more weeks.

Not what I was told and I asked 2 salesmen. The car had My ford Touch and Sync but no Nav. I asked if f they could just get an SD card. they said no, it had to have Nav activated from the factory. Could be more salesmen not knowing what they are talking about, I have experienced many of them in the last few months with both my wife and myself looking for a car.
