  1. Are you filling the tank with the engine running? I did that one time with my MKX & it wouldn't fill completely. When full, it will read around 415 miles to empty. When I left the engine running it was somewhere around 360 miles to empty.
  2. The seat memory buttons are lit. The window lockout & mirror adjusment knob are not. I forgot to check the dimmer knob.
  3. The window lockout switch does not light up on my MKX. Neither does the mirror control switch.
  4. I found what most of the issue was with mine. I brought it in to the dealer & told them it wasn't cooling sufficiently & was blowing out dust when it starts up.There is always dust all over the face of the dash & on the middle of the rear seat. They checked it & stated it pulled down to 45 degrees & no dust. Over the weekend, I figured out how the cabin air filter is removed. I checked it & it was plugged solid with debris. Its a wonder any air passed though it. I specifically asked the service rep if they checked that & he said they did. I like my dealership but now, I feel a little bit of mis trust. I guess that I'm not surprised that they can't find the transmission problem either. I'm not going to name the dealership at this time, since a board member works there. I'll give them the benefit of doubt.
  5. You are so right. If I were to have answered this question a few days ago, I would have flat out said NO. I was at my local dealership yesterday (2nd time this week) getting the MKX serviced & checked out the cars while I was there. The Flex is FAR more impressive in person then you would ever think by looking at the pics. The one I sat in was an SEL,black with black leather. The interior is quite well appointed & very comfortable. The exterior I guess is either love it or hate it. I spent a couple of hours online reading up on it. There is a long list of options for it. One it doesn't seem to have that would be nice is cooled seats. Heated seats are available though. Eco-boost would make it a real standout. Needless to say, my opinion has changed & I would concider buying one.
  6. I had a 63 Imperial. Gas was around $.35 a gallon at that time.
  7. I have an MKX, but the liftgate works the same way. Mine only chimes when its getting ready to close. Never when opening.
  8. Perhaps, without the pigtail you won't be able to turn the lights on or off independently? There appears to be 2 pins at the top of the board. There probably is a 2 pin connector on the pigtail. For the end result, I would think $55.00 is a bargain.
  9. Crutchfield is worth a try. www.crutchfield.com
  10. I had H & R springs put on my MKX when I bought it. They didn't suggest getting different shocks & I didn't. It just hit 10K this week & no issues. The ride is a bit firmer, but the handling is far better. It also looks good being a bit lower then stock.
  11. I think I saw these available on the MKS. Perhaps Ford will make them available for the Edge & MKX.
  12. I asked my service rep about the filter when I had the MKX in for the cold shift issue wjth the transmission. He wasn't even sure where the filter was supposed to be. He was looking under the hood. He thought that there was one, it was an option. I removed the glove box door the other day & there is indeed a pleated paper filter on top of the box. I found that surprising, since quite a bit of white dust comes out of the center vents. One day, I noticed a lot of dust in the middle of the rear seat. Didn't realize then where it was coming from. When I get a chance, I'm going to open up the filter box & see what it looks like in there.
  13. I do that also, but since the tint is so dark on the rear windows, its difficult to see quickly. There is an off ramp just beyond where I get onto the highway & much of the traffic is trying to squeeze right to take that while those getting on are trying to squeeze lef to get away from them.
  14. I like those wheels also. The factory ones are a bit too busy on both the Edge & MKX IMO.
  15. While I fully agree with your reasoning, what about if someone pulls over to the side of the road because something happened with the NAV & the driver is afraid of getting lost. In doing this, he gets in an accident & blames the manufacturer because he couldn't reset it or have a passenger do so while moving? I think this would stand a shot at winning in court. I feel that a warning is enough. Much like seatbelts, there are chimes & blinking lights & messages staring back at you to remind you. Also, they are law in most places. Yet, you cannot force people to use them if they choose not to.
  16. Toyota is making a lot of noise with this feature. The MKS also has it. However, Ford is wise enough to remind people that the system may not function after a severe crash.
  17. For me, it would be the 3.7 Ecoboost, better brakes, the new blind spot mirrors & keyless start.
  18. I'm wondering if there is a sensor that tells the system when to run colder? I know that when Chrysler came out with the Autotemp in the late 60's, there was a sensor behind the dash to regulate the output. I've noticed a couple of times that the air started to get cooler very suddenly after having to apply the brakes quickly, then accelerating rapidly.
  19. I have the towing package & the cooling could be much better in my opinion.
  20. I've had a few near misses. It seems as though I can see way behind me & I start to change lanes & someone is almost beside me. I've tried moving the mirror out some. This helps but still could be better. I'd love to get a pair of those mirrors.
  21. The DVD headrests tilt forward. However, mine won't stay in a raised position any longer.
  22. The sad thing with the Lincoln is that you expect more of everything in reserve simply because it is a Lincoln. You shouldn't have to barely make do with anything.
  23. I live in Phoenix also & it was 116 this afternoon. It was barely comfortable after a half hour operation. This morning when it was 88, it was cold within 10 minutes.
