  1. Do not let them apply anything to the finish free or not. A good waxing about every 6 months is the best thing you can do for it. As others have said "snake oil"...run Forest run
  2. So what is it that you do at the dealer adn how long have you been doing it.
  3. Can this be done...sure, however the cost and labor involved in doing so will be very high. The first thing you have to do is pull the entire dash board out and install the HVAC box for the automatic climate control as it is different than the one for the the regular system, book time alone on this is almost 7 hours and is not recommended for the average DIYer. Then you obviously need the HVAC controller and more than likely you are going to have to have some programming done which will be impossible at the dealer because they are going to tell you that you can't do it because the vehicle wasn't built that way. This project would be considered a MAJOR modification
  4. Something doesn't sound right. If sticker price is 36,000 and Ford rebates you 3000 then you should only be paying tax on 33,000. If the tax rate is 10% that equals 36,300. That's the way it has always been for me. Now when it comes to dmv licensing I always have to pay the vehicle license tax on the amount that the vehicle is worth, not what I bought it for.
  5. I find it amazing that the OP has one issue with the brakes and automatically thinks that there is a design flaw. I personally own a 2010 Edge and have 2 customers with older Edges that have been bringing their vehicles to me ever since they were new for maintenance. Both vehicles have over 30,000 miles and the brakes only appear to be about half worn. I traded in my 2008 Ford Sport Trac with 28,000 miles for my Edge and the brakes on the Sport Trac looked as if they were brand new. Take it from someone who has been professionally repairing vehicles for over 20 years that Ford does not currently have a brake issue. As fas as batteries go they all will leak sooner or later. Th eonly batteries I have seen that don't leak are gel.
  6. I would put money on the 2k11 having a gearshift display in the dash. I don't think I have ever seen an autostick that didn't. I can't wait to drive one with the autostick just because I am curious how much control they won't give to the driver as far as gear selection where and when the driver wants it.
  7. I am referring to 1-6 gears that aren't selectable and therfore there is no reason to have a display on the dash. If I am not mistaken there is an od indicator on the dash that illunminates if you turn the od off. Other than that there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to have a shift indicator on the dash.
  8. Is that like being a little bit pregnant???
  9. You can't select different forward gears in the 07-10 Edge so what use would it be to have an indicator in the dash that tell syou what gear it is actually in. Now if you need it there to tell you if you are in park, reverse or neutral then you have other issues.
  10. Are you serious?? I highly doubt the "new" body style is any different. Maybe you could go to a Honda forum and see where the hook up is for the SWEET lightweight carbon fiber hoods is.
  11. Do you really rest your head on the head rest while you are driving? We had a Lexus IS 350 and if you were sitting in the seat your head would make contact with the restraint as soon as you move your head back. With that said i still have never "rested" my head on it while driving, feels very unnatural for me to lean my head backwards while driving even a fraction of an inch....btw welcome to the forum
  12. The 1st reason for not doing it is that it isn't worth it. Like others have said the hit you take in fuel mileage may end up actually costing you more. Yes GM has been offering it for years on their vehicles but look at which compnay is still above water adn that should answer your questions...after all GM is still betting the farm on the truck/suv market...they haven't learned anything.
  13. SO how did all of this turn out??????
  14. ANother person joined just to complain and then leave....typical.
  15. The front camber can be increased by about 1/2 a degree by rotating the the upper strut mount, hopefully you won't need to go any further than that. The rear camber is also adjustable so you should be all right. When I install lowering springs usually I just trim about 3/4" off of the bump stops. Typically the only time you need to change shocks/struts is when you lift a vehicle.
  16. A few select wood accents could set things off nicely
  17. Definetely skip the woodgrain
  18. All I have to say is never buy the first year model or makeover. I think you made a wise decision buying the 2010. Now the 2012 model would be a different story
  19. I find it odd that they offered up Katzin seats and a remote start as you can option out the vehicle with leather already included for less tham what the Katzkin costs. Nothing against Katzkin but I would prefer factory optioned leather over aftermarket anyday. Now if you are going for some totally different look as far as the seats go then Katzkin is definetely the way to go but I don't get the feeling that you are going that route. Just make sure that after they install everything that you look it over as if you were buying a million $$$ car...I have heard plenty of horror stories from other people that have gone this route. Good luck with your Edge and hope that you enjoy it.
  20. It sounds as if there may be a wheel speed sensor that is not reading correctly unfortunately you will need a scan tool capable of getting into the abs system to see if this is the case or not. Do you have any automotive repair experience??
  21. I have it and all I can say about it is that it is very cheesy. It does not roll back for easy access, the sides of it clip to the edge of the rear trim, between the window and the trim, with just cheap hooks attached to elastic strips...it's very easy to tell that this was an afterthought that a 5 year old must have designed
  22. I think the particulate flter..aka cabin air filter comes in vehicles that have automatic climate control. The vehicles without automatic climate control only get a fine mesh screen but a filter can be added in about 30 seconds.
  23. This is the worst forum for that I have ever seen.
