jaw42885 Posted June 6, 2012 Report Share Posted June 6, 2012 Need some help. The check engine light came on the morning after I got gas. Checked the code and came up with code P0451. I checked the gas cap and everything was on tight. I didn't over fill the gas. I have no clue where to go from here. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for the help. My name is Joey by the way. cjd3 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 (edited) Check your gas cap gasket, that's all I can guess. Perhaps the gas cap is cracked somewhere you can't see. wlepse Posted June 7, 2012 Report Share Posted June 7, 2012 Sometimes the caps do wear out but see if a local auto parts place can test it for you. If it isn't the cap there is a pressure sensor in there that does go bad on occasion but not sure if this is really a DIY fix.
