The Trailer Sway is ON by default and can be turned OFF in the Settings, but at the next key cycle it will turn ON again. I ordered the tow package but I will tow maybe once or twice a year a small trailer, so I wanted to torn OFF the trailer sway feature for the most of the time. Is there any option to do this? 2. If I turn OFF the Trailer Sway, will the gas consumption improve? Right now after having my EDGE for 3 months, I'm a little off than what I was expected. Waldo Posted August 2, 2012 Report Share Posted August 2, 2012 (edited) Trailer sway has nothing to do with fuel economy. There is no reason to turn it off, just leave it on. Ford's AWD system takes a long time to break in, usually more than 5000 miles, so just wait a bit more before judging the fuel economy.
