2012 limited brake pad failure

Bought a used 2012 limited FWD from a Ford dealer about 5 months ago. At purchase it had 19,000 miles on it. I've added 5K for a total of just over 26K. Today I had to have new brake pads on ALL FOUR wheels today. On all four of them the inside pads were all the way down to the metal, while the outside pads were still pristine. I had the work done at a local Meineke because I couldn't make it down to the dealer before I head out on some travel for work this weekend. Has anyone else had this problem? Seems like 25K miles just is way to premature for this to be happening, especially since it's only the inside pads. I kept the old pads and I'm thinking of taking them to the dealer and asking for some reimbursement. Thoughts anyone?

I've usually only seen pads wear excessively on one side like you mention when the caliper isn't free to slide back and forth when the brakes are applied and released. There are pins or keys which have to be kept cleaned and lubed for the caliper to slide on. You should be able to hold onto the caliper and slide it back and forth when the brakes are not applied. If it is hard to move or doesn't move at all, it needs to be cleaned and lubed properly.

The calipers are not retracting properly and keeping a constant pressure on those inside pads, resulting in excessive wear on just the one side. Or the pistons themselves are not retracting and keeping those pads against the rotor. Hard to believe it would happen on all 4 brakes, but it could depend on the past maintenance and where/how/in what it's been driven.
