Aftermarket Exhaust w/Trailer Hitch?

Recommended Posts

One of the mods at the top of my list is either the Gibson or Magnaflow exhaust. A little further down the road, I'd like to install a hitch. After doing some research on this forum, I've found a few aftermarket hitch possibilities that won't require cutting the rear bumper and also look pretty good (i.e. not too visible from the rear). However, I have a question about combining these two mods: The OEM exhaust appears to use two mufflers, whereas the two aftermarket kits use one transverse mounted muffler at the bumper. So has anyone installed either the Gibson or Magnaflow kit along with a hitch? Or is it not possible to install the hitch because the muffler's in the way?

Gee, was my original posting really that difficult to understand? Because I thought I made my question pretty clear...

I followed you just fine...

The OEM exhaust is large and the pics I've seen of aftermarket are generally smaller set ups. I don't think you will have an issue as long as you keep the aftermarket mufflers within the confines of the OEM space taken.
