I bought a new 2013 SE Edge. The dealer is terrible on helping post sale, so I am turning again to this forum for help. I was not able to afford the bells and whistles, so I do not have MFT. I am able to connect my phone via blue tooth and talk via the vehicle. I purchased the SE in 3/2014 and I was able to send text template responses via SYNC. I can receive a text and the computer reads it aloud, but I cannot send responses any more via SYNC. Any suggestions?

Did you update sync (although you probably have the latest version) or your phone? Did you change phones? What phone are you using?

 

We need more info, in order to help.

Update.... Not sure on the SYNC-How do I check that?? Dealer was no help! Phone yes, on the update- HTC One via Sprint.

You can log into the ford sync website, set up an account and it will then walk you through to see if you need an update:

 

https://support.ford.com/tools/account/sync-software

 

Some phones do not allow text responding via sync (my iphone does not). Or it may be a phone setting that activates the compatibility (admittedly, I have no idea how to go about it via android).

I went to sync.. No updates.. They had me delete and re pair my phone.. I can send the template texts and people can receive, but it does not go to my phone and the screen on the since, says error. The text people get via vehicle, says it was sent from my ford. Weird...

Hi Travis Totten,

Congrats on your new Edge! I'm not sure if the HTC One is fully compatible with the texting feature on SYNC; generally, if you get that error message, it is not. Have you tried rebooting your phone after the update, and do you know what kind of update it was? Sometimes after an update on your phone (depending on what your carrier updated), it can cause phones to no longer work as they did before.
