cclaxton
I know the 2015 Ford Edge has the option for automatic highbeams. I had this on my Cadillac and loved the feature. Is there any way to retrofit a 2014 with the Ford 2015 parts and use Automatic highbeams? Or, any aftermarket kits available? Thanks, Cody
omar302
There is this, but I don't know if it works fully on the Edge: http://www.mobileye.com/products/mobileye-5-series/
akirby
Highly doubtful. Since no Edges had auto-dimming the code to do it won't be in the PCM or the controlling module even if you added the sensor. You'd have to go aftermarket if anything. I have that on my 2013 Fusion Titanium and it's probably my favorite feature.
cclaxton
The Mobileye would probably work. But I am wondering if I can get the 2015 detector (Is it in the mirror?) and then have it custom-wired into the high beam switch, and install a simple toggle switch to turn it on and off. They did a similar modification to add front parking sensors to my 2014 Edge. There is a toggle switch that turns them on/off. Warranty might be an issue. akirby
The sensor probably communicates with the SJB to control the lights so the logic to interpret the sensor is in the SJB, not in the "detector" so you can't just install the detector to activate the switch.
