Hi,

I am currently in market for Ford Edge in SEL trim level with just 201A package installed and no additional features.Unfortunately, I am having a hard time searching this particular model in white.Lots of dealers are trying to push inventories with additional features and are claiming that production has stopped for 2015 model year.

I also noticed that lot of dealers are trying to sell at an invoice price but are not willing to go below invoice.Did anyone manage to get below invoice pricing(say 5%?) .

I am trying hard to find an edge to make use of current rebates but not able to convince myself to buy some other color.Would it make sense to order 2016 model since order banks have opened? Will the rebates increase during November/December months?

Please guide!

No way to know if rebates will change. Have you contacted Ford to see if they can find one for you? It's an option on the build and price website.

No way you'll find 5% below invoice - that's below actual dealer cost and below employee pricing. Not counting incentives of course.

You might be able to get a few hundred below invoice but that will be rare especially when you add in the doc fee.

Thanks for your response sir! I have been offered ~5% below invoice on 2015 Ford Edge SEL (MSRP=$35,0XX).Do you think this a good offer?

Only caveat being that dealer has to get the car from a different dealer which they are willing to ! Should I be wary of anything?

I hope the 5% is not off the MSRP :) Be sure to become very familiar with all the options & equipment you SHOULD have on the Edge before you take delivery so you can do your own pre-delivery checklist. Also check the manufacturing date to see if the water leak recall applies and has been corrected. All recalls should be fixed before you take delivery. Take it for a quick spin to make sure it drives well.

If you like your vehicles detailed & spic'n'span, don't let them wash the Edge before you take delivery. Arrange with a detailer beforehand so the Edge can be protected from the get-go.

You may or may not be a warranty-type person, but if you are going to hold on to the Edge longterm, it's worth looking at & understanding Ford's offering for extended warranties.

If you like what you see, shop online at Lombards or Flood Ford, get a price and have your dealership match it and roll it into the purchase price.

I have had one instance just recently where a MasterTech (aftermarket) warranty has really worked out for the buyer.

It's confusing to include rebates with the dealer discount. It's better to negotiate them separately - eg $200 below invoice plus whatever factory rebates are available. Otherwise you may confuse a factory rebate for a dealer discount and pay too much.

I just did a X plan build and price for a 2015 Edge 2.0L EB SEL w/201a package and nothing else. With $2,075 in rebates the X plan price is $30,845. You should be able to negotiate a price between $30,500 and $31,500. MSRP $34,995.

Thanks for the prompt replies!

I am not concerned about water leakage issue since this particular car was built in the month of September.

I took the X Plan route and OTD price on vehicle was ~32000(MSRP $35,0xx). However I see rebates only up to $1500 and not $2075! Can you please enlighten me about additional rebates?

The dealer offered me OTD price of $30,000 which actually below invoice.

Rebates vary by zip code and vehicle. Where did you see the $1500 rebate?

If they offered you $30K why did you pay $32K?
