allport
I noticed a leak under the car and it looks like a brake line has let go above the gas tank. I can't tell if it's left or right cause I can't see above the tank. I noticed there is a union under the driver side so I can split the line there easy enough. Does anyone know if there is one above the tank? I need to figure out what side it is so I can hopefully buy a pre bent line or maybe make my own. macbwt
The main brake line to the rear is one line that splits off at the rear of the Edge then branches off to the rear brake calipers. The drivers side goes directly to the drivers side rear caliper. The passenger side appears to have two or three body fastening points but is one line with no junctions. As far as access I have not had to perform this task, but to remove it may require some or part removal of the tank to access if it thread above the tank like you have observed. allport
There are 2 brake lines passing to the rear under the driver side. I can confirm this as there are 2 unions there as well. I'm going to end to borrow a boroscope to view above the tank and find the bad line prior to dropping the tank I guess
allport
Incase anyone cares here is an update. Ā There are 2 lines. Both have a union under driver side seat. Driver side line is direct to caliper. Passenger side has another union behind tank. I found that driver side line rotted above the tank in the holder so I replaced that.
WWWPerfA_ZN0W
No issues with the fuel tank though I hope!
allport
It didn't look good so I left it alone and worked around it. Another year tops and it will be rotted through as well.
