ChoBolT
I bought a used Ford Edge 2013 SEL 2 months ago, I though I'd share my first impressions : PROS - Smooth driving, silent enough - Good acceleration when needed (3.5l), but I dont like the way it shifts down the gears one by one. - Seating is good, even for long distance, much less back pain than on my previous car - Large enough to fit 3 car seats, without being too large (like a minivan) or too long (like 3 seating rows cars) - Good looking CONS - Very few easily/quickly accessible stowage compartment for wallet/phone/change - Heavy doors have to be slammed hard to avoid being ajar - SYNC interface is counter intuitive (at least the non-touch one) - Too many buttons and redundant functions around the screen. Who needs a full numpad ?? - Bad smell in the cabin when going high in RPMs. Having the air recycling on seems to eliminate the problem. - USB stays on even when engine is off, bad for dash cam installation IMHO.. Love the Pros, and can live with the Cons, so I like the car overall, I'd buy it again if I had the choice, but I'd take the touch sync.
omar302
Congratulations on the new ride. Hope you enjoy it to the fullest. Regarding the smell at high RPM, check this thread. If your Edge is still under warranty try to get it fixed. vader06
I have been looking at 2014 Edges. I will be purchasing one in 6 to 12 months. My wife and I have been test driving similar vehicles and we always go back to the Ford Edge. It is a nice comfortable ride.
