Summary

This article supersedes TSB 15-0183 to update the vehicle list and vehicle model years.

 

Issue: Some 2015-2017 Edge vehicles equipped with a 2.0L/2.7L EcoBoost engine, 2015-2017 F150 vehicles equipped with a 2.7L EcoBoost or 5.0L engine, 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost, 5.0L engine, 2016-2017 Mustang equipped with a 5.2L engine, 2016-2017 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine or 2017 Escape/MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine may exhibit an engine oil leak. This may be due to the engine oil pressure (EOP) sensor threads leaking.

 

Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

Service Procedure

1. Inspect the EOP sensor. Does the EOP sensor exhibit an oil leak at the sensor threads?

(1). Yes – proceed to Step 2.

(2). No – this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00.

2. Remove and reseal the EOP sensor, refer to WSM, Section 303-14. Clean the area as necessary.

3. Inspect and set the engine oil level as needed. Refer to WSM, Section 303-01.
