Bonzo84
Well, I was checking any Sync updates online for my new 2018 Edge sport. It said Version 3 was available which I figured I had so I downloaded it to USB and put in car. I didn't see any notice anything was happening, no notice of updating. So against my better jusdgement I pulled the USB out. Well I think big mistake, my screen just has a half of nav map and is locked, I can do anything. Is there anything I can do, even via Forscan, or is it only something dealer can revive? Please help! Thanks!!!!!!
2FAST4U
Did you try turning everything off and restart from the beginning?… or… I know there is some kind of "rebooting" or reinitializing procedure of the Sync system that you could also try… If that doesn't work, then bring the car to your dealer. Good luck, Claude.
Ron Jeremy
Turn the car off, open the driver door, let everything shut down, start the ignition again and it should clear. if that doesn’t do it, disconnect the battery and try that again. if it’s still locked up, than I’d take it to a dealer. mentexxo.fb
if your screen is black and you tried resetting it and everything else this is what you need to do STEP 1 : Go to www.ford.com/support/software-updates STEP 2 :type in the VIN number for your vehicle and click search STEP 3 you will need a USB ThumbDrive ( 4G or more of free space) to download the update on. you will also need a computer and a program called "WinRAR" to extract the files from the zipped download you will also need to format the thumbdrive to exFAT (recommended) or FAT32 before you copy all the contents from the zipped download. and make sure all contents from the zip download is copied onto the thumbdrive --------only these 3 things should be on the thumbdrive. NOTHING ELSE syncmyride (folder) autoinstall.lst DONTINDX.MSA STEP 4 Eject the thumbdrive safely from your computer and then take it to your vehicle. STEP 5. after you turn on your car make sure to Disable your auto Shut off Switch by pressing the A with the round arrow around it. then gently plug in the flashdrive. ONCE YOU PLUG IT IN DO NOT UNPLUG!!!! it will take 10 or more minutes for the update to start and then the update will take about a half hour after. the screen will change and once the update is done it will tell you to safely remove the USB Drive. then the messege will prompt you to switch off the vehicle fully and then turn it back on to finalize the update. the navigation should update too
