I have caught police from 1/2 mile away or more! Filters most of the newer radar signals put out by cars for lane assistance, etc. Frequent updates available also. For areas where you get alerts from doors, etc you can mark them with mute memory so that you will not hear them any longer. Very solid unit and mounts up high with a mirror tap. They also have the new R7 who's benefit is showing if it is coming from front or rear. I HIGHLY recommend! Shows which direction the police beam is coming from (front, back, left, right), displays several radar lock-ons, frequency, beam strength and other stuff. Excellent false rejection filtering and auto memorizating of existing doors, etc. Also have the ability to show what other Escort owners are picking up on their units (units sends detections from any particating unit to the cloud and downloads to others. You see a map (like Google maps) of the area your driving in an where the cops are). Also updates database and firmware via wireless connection.
