Just a PTO I believe (center diff). I know the front wheel drive is open diff.

 

So worst case is two wheels of the 4 will get power and spin... rather than the one wheel in most FWD.

 

Of course the electronic traction control will apply brakes to the spinning wheel to get torque to flow to the opposite wheel. Which of course does help.

Correct. Traction control will help with that - up to a point.
