enigma-2 Posted June 10, 2023 Report Share Posted June 10, 2023 I used to work with an automotive engineer. He told me the tire manufacturers run a spin balance on all tires at the end of production. The best are sent to OEM because they require less lead to balance. Anything out speck by a 1/2 oz or more went to aftermarket. There's no way to purchase tires intended for OEM as their under contract to deliver. I suppose if the tire mfgr had met their quota, you might get an OEM quality tire.
