Perimeter plus module location

The perimeter+ is not installed factory, even though it is an approved Ford part. Do the actual install location might differ.

If I recall correctly, the recommended location is strapped to a steel bar that can be accessed behind the left drawer/fuse cover. The one near the driver's left knee. Pull out the drawer and look inside towards the center of the vehicle.

Thanks for replying.  I've been searching all over for info but can only find posts about ford trucks.  I'm guessing that I have the perimeter plus installed because I  have the remote start and alarm system from the factory.  I'm guessing that it has the shock sensor as well. That's why I wanted to adjust the settings.  Maybe the shock sensor part is not installed?

I will check the area you mentioned to see if the module is in fact installed.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the installation info.

I have 2 more questions.

If I  have the remote start and alarm system from the factory, should the shock sensor be part of the as well? I can't find the module that looks like the one in the kit.

Do I have to use the software to enable features, or will the car automatically detect its presence?

  1. The shock sensor is NOT part of the factory alarm system or remote start. The factory Alarm system only monitors Doors/Liftgate/Hood opening.
  2. If a VSS (with the shock sensor) is installed correctly, the vehicle will automatically detect it. The VSS itself can have a small jumper cable installed to disable its security features , the jumper is NOT installed by default..
