Moazzam
Hi After compromised AC performance, I've noticed that one (right-side) engine cooling fan of my Edge 2013 Limited isn't working anymore. Apparently, the carbon brush of the cooling fan motor is past it's useful life. If I hit the motor, it works for a while. I've checked with the agency. They don't sell only a motor. They have full assembly with two fans and electronics. That also of the wrong type. The guy there checked my car and told the I've two plugs, they somehow have the assembly with only one plug! I've two questions: 1. Are there two types of cooling fan assembly for the same model? Can they replace each other? 2. If feel that it's pretty wasteful to swap the entire assembly when only a small component has gone bad: 2.A. Is it possible to change only the motor? Is it available ? What's the size/ specs? 2.B. Is it possible to change and advisable to change only carbon brushes? What are the specs/size. Does it use any special size...? Thanks
omar302
1. Yes,, two types. One for Edge with towing package and one without. 2.A. Not available. 2.B. Not available. Not advisable. Change complete assembly with Motorcraft/Ford only. Others have faced many issues with other makes.
