Blk22Edge Posted yesterday at 02:09 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:09 PM Recently got in an accident with my Edge. Right now the estimated repair cost is 6 grand. That's without a new tire, the rim being re-finished or the r/f strut. All which suffered damage from the accident. I have BC racing coil overs on it right now. My hopes are they replace it with the correct parts and not some cheap aftermarket stuff.
1004ron Posted yesterday at 03:53 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:53 PM Sorry to hear that. I'm interested to see what position the insurance take on the BC Racing coil overs - my thoughts are that you could insist on OEM but doubt that they'll entertain any upgrades. It might consider it a liability risk to them in the event a non-OEM part results in a severe accident. Hope they don't use the performance parts to weasel out of their responsibility. Insurance so far has said the strut looked okay. But we will find out when they start the repair. 1004ron Posted yesterday at 05:44 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:44 PM (edited) Just going by what can be seen in that photo I'd be very surprised if the strut is OK. Edited yesterday at 05:45 PM by 1004ron
Blk22Edge Posted yesterday at 05:59 PM Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:59 PM I looked at the estimate and reached out to the adjuster because I did notice quite a few things missing. I asked about the strut, tire and wheel not being on the estimate and he said that the strut appeared to be okay and that they usually "float" and don't suffer damage. He also said the tire and wheel looked okay. Which I know isn't right. My tire went flat during the collision and that's where the impact primarily took place.
