Jbaandm Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM Hello all. I have a 2016 2.7L MKX and have an issue with power steering and instrument cluster lights(pics below). I posted here since Edge is the same platform and there aren't many Lincoln DIY sites. Car is drivable but the steering is a little stiffer than normal. Also, on occasion, the engine will go into a louder cadence and accelerate while in drive. Not by much but enough to keep you from slowing down when you take your foot off of the accelerator pedal. If you put it in park while this is happening, the engine will rev to 3000-4000 Rpms on own and almost sounds as if it's switching gears but the car isn't in gear. Has anyone had this happen before? So far I've checked battery and alternator. Both passed.
1004ron Posted yesterday at 10:15 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:15 PM Welcome. Only guessing it sounds like a bad ground connection, but would start by reading the stored fault codes.
garycrist
Did you clean the negative battery terminals down to clean copper and lead? For the last 50+ years, the 1st. thing I've asked the FORD client, "Have you cleaned the terminals"etc.
