Jet Performance Module

Recommended Posts

Personally I'd stay away from this type of solution. It's a module that plugs into the wiring harness between the engine and the PCM. This means it has to "trick" the PCM into doing what it wants by altering sensor readings or changing the commands going back to the vehicle. That limits what you can do.

You're much better off getting a tuner that actually downloads new code to the PCM like the SCT tuner. It actually changes the PCM code inside.

Best is a dyno tune, second is the programmer that plugs into the system and downloads new software..... everything else is junk.

A dyno tune will give you the best and a custom tune, what is better about it is if you add anything to the car like exhaust, intake or fuel system a dyno tune will tune it properly to be the most efficient because it monitors the hp gains at the tires and exhaust to determine the correct tune to program your computer. Even if your car is 100% stock a dyno tune will be better than a programmer cause every car even though is built the same runs different.

A tuner that just plugs into your system has a predetermined software that does not know if you changed anything nor monitors the exhaust to see how everything is running together, no exhaust check or hp check at the tires.

Totally agree.

But honestly, your money is better spent elsewhere currently as the Normally Aspirated Engines are already highly tuned. You think they got 285 horses from 3.5L of normal aspiration without strong tuning? Additionally, tuning a Ti-VCT engine is not as easy as a fixed valve head as you have to deal with different valve timings at different RPMs. Maybe you can get the "HOT" valve to open earlier in the rev range with some tuning, but I imagine it is not simple/cost effective to squeeze more performance from these engines.
