2011 Ford Edge 2" Factory Hitch

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys - I just towed a small trailer with my '11 Edge for the first time. Its a Limited with the factory 2" hitch receiver. I put my 2" hitch into the receiver and it is sloppy loose. Anyone else notice this issue? The hitch that I put in it is the one that I use all the time on my '08 F-250 and it fits fine. I can't really figure it out.

I ordered my Edge with a factory installed hitch. I installed a receiver for an extended tie off point for securing my kayak's stern tiedown line. The fist time I drove with the receiver in I heard a lot of racket. I've ridden in several trucks towing boats and trailers, but never heard or noticed the constant slamming. I ordered a Boone No Rattle Hitch Wedge http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Accessories/Boone-Outdoor/93347.html which works great.

Yup, the receiver's a bit overkill for tying down the kayak, but I'm extended out a bit plus the receiver holds an eye bolt for tiedown point.

Nice share!

The only thing I've had in my hitch was a bike rack that included a threaded pin and hitch combo that kept everything tight, so I've never noticed wobble.

I feel like I will end up purchasing one of these eventually.
