EdgeDog
I have the Hankook Danapro AS with 40000 miles on them, with FWD, and my question is does anyone else have the problem of the tires spinning on startoff in wet weather? I have prenty of tread left and am a lightfoot but is it just a little fustrating turning out on a street , if it is just wet , and the tires spin way too easily..Ive had this now for the whole duration of the time ive owned it new...Just wondering if anyone else with hankooks experience this too... fifthranger
I have those same tires on our 07' FWD Ford Edge, and I don't exactly understand your problem. I think that being a FWD vehicle it is a quirk that you are experiencing that would be no different than driving any FWD vehicle -- even a Taurus. Naturally, the tires want to spin when the gas is pressed, and being FWD the powertrain is in the Front. This is exactly why many prefer or need AWD or RWD since with AWD the tires all spin the same. But, there is no happy medium since RWD vehicles are prown to fishtailing, and are harder to control. I would rather have the FWD problem because I drive a 2WD pick-up, and in inclement winter weather, it can be downright dangerous to drive. KyEdge
I had an 07 AWD with the Hankook tires, and traded it to a new 2011 FWD with the same tires. I haven't noticed any such issues either. I drove the FWD '11 in several snows last year, and didn't notice much more difficulty than I had in previous winters with the AWD. I've been very happy with the Hankooks.
