If not, would it still work with the oem camera? My 2013 SE has the 101A package with the sensors on the rear bumper. Anyone that can chime in would be much appreciated. I wanted to try to keep it oem but if that's not possible what would be my best option? I found this SEL appearance package that has the same screen setup as mine and it has reverse camera. I don't have dual climate control. So it looks like it might be possible?? See pics below. I have also heard something about ford going in and changing a setting to make it work. I want to try and keep it OEM if possible, just looks much cleaner that way. P.S.- Didn't mean to school you or offend you in anyway if I did, I've just been really curious if this would work and I happened to just browse upon that SEL with that option. If you find someone at the dealership please let me know how/if it can be done. I think it's possible, but I'm guessing wiring will have to be ran and something at the dealer will have to activate the camera into the screen. I'm hoping that if I purchase the OEM camera (BT4Z-19G490- that it will plug into existing wiring and work with the dash display center. Has anyone had any success doing this? chipworkz Posted September 29, 2014 Report Share Posted September 29, 2014 As far as trying to get a factory camera to work in the SE, I don't see how you could. The factory camera uses the center MFT screen so how could you have the camera without that screen unless you went aftermarket? That is just the starting point. As far as the SEL without the camera, that is more likely since you have the MFT system but just missing the camera. I attached a picture of an SEL that has the reverse camera with the 4.3'' screen setup without MFT. I know some of the SEL's that aren't upgraded to MFT have a 4.3'' screen just like my SE. I've also seen some of the new XLT F-150s with a 4.3'' screen with reverse camera. I'll try to remove the plastic cover under my hatch on the rear where the camera is installed and see if there is any harness to plug into. Probably not, but worth a shot. I was thinking you were talking about the 4.3" screen by the speedometer, not the small one in the center. I am new to the edge too but have done a lot of reading on here since I got it. There was mention that Ford stopped using the one size fits all wire harness so like you say, you just need to see if the wires are there or not number one. The next question will be if the head unit has the module for the camera or not. Then is there anything different in the software and so on. Hopefully it is just a matter of adding the camera in the back but until you dig in or talk to someone with Ford that has all the answers it is hard to tell what all would be missing or is different.
