From this year I began to notice that at the slightly opened forward window left and right, when driving on the uneven road glass clatter, a small tinkling sound appears. At the closed side glass it vanishes. What it is connected with, before it wasn't noticed, there can be a fastening of glass relaxed or it is necessary to clear more carefully a fiber cuff which densely covers glass when lowering down? enigma-2 Posted June 21, 2017 Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 When either of the front side windows are lowered slightly (1/4 to 1/2), do you notice any additional looseness of the glass, when wiggling the top of the glass? (As compared to the back side windows which do not exhibit this sound). If not, it would eliminate the attachment of the glass as being the source. With the door(s) open, is either of the lower guide channel bolts', loose? (Lower down, below the latch). If not, that would eliminate the back, lower window guide channel. Unlikely, but when you press in on the door inner cover panel, the upholstered cover. can you reproduce the sound? What is the condition of the window weatherstripping? Is the sound, speed sensitive, i.e. more so at higher speeds or at lower speeds? Have you tried wiggling the exterior mirrors? Also the exterior mirror glass. When the sound occurs, try partially pulling open the door handle (not fully enough to actualky open the door. I tried to sway a windshield and really it makes a sound, in case of the lowered situation on a quarter. on back glass there is no such problem. Check of a windshield swaying. Creaks. enigma-2 Posted June 22, 2017 Report Share Posted June 22, 2017 If you are certain it's the windiw, my guess is the two clamps that secure the glass to the mechanism have loosened. To check this, you will need to remove the door trim and check the clamps for tightness. Here's a video from MacFordEdge on how he replaced a window glass. Many thanks for video. I will remove a covering and I will try to clean the condensing plait, also I will check fastening. I will also check two clips.
