  1. I don't think specific "Sport grille inserts" are avail. All I see is the ones I ordered - "Painted Grille Inserts, Prime." Sez it fits 2011 Ford Edge. While it doesn't say Sport, I think they are the same parts. They could certainly be painted black.
  2. I am trading in a 2004 Infiniti FX I bought new. Has the tech pkg - nav, intelligent key and intelligent [adaptive] cruise control. While it worked great, I never really used it that much. I don't do that much hiway driving. And when I did use it a few times, I felt a bit more outa control. It's really a tossup whether you'll use it. I did not order it on my 2011 Edge.
  3. Remember, that's an "artist's rendering"! My best attempt at a photoshopped blue grille. I hope the real ones will look a bit better.
  4. I would think VINs apply to Canadian as well as US vehicles. Check out this explanation. The 13 char will always be a Zero. Also stated in that link: Since 1981, VINs consist of 17 characters which do not include the letters I (i), O (o), or Q (q) (to avoid confusion with numerals 1 and 0).
  5. Never said he wasn't correct. Nor did I say that date was a ship date. Where'd you get that? The date is, in fact, the date it was submitted and accepted by the plant, just like you said. The reason I posted the pic was wilsons said "My window sticker still doesn't have a date." I just showed in my diagram'd pic where my sticker has a date.
  6. I see the identical sticker pdf on that site.
  7. Hhhmmmm.... Do you go to http://fordlabels.we...icker.aspx?vin=blah to view your sticker? Every one I've looked at - even through http://www.shopfordnow.com/ is like the one I showed...
  8. look in the lower left on the first page:
  9. I was told last week I had a deliv date of 9/6. My dealer shows "shipped" but it really hasn't. I think I mentioned that before. Yesterday, CRC had a status still of "In Production" with no deliv date. So, I don't know if it's a difference of reps that see different things. Doubt it. Or just a shipping delay. They must have a good sized backlog of built cars ready to ship. On the fordvehicles website, when I search for a 2011 Edge in my area, I see a few dealers with 1, 2 or 3. My dealer shows 1, but it's still at the area train terminal and not yet delivered to the actual dealer (may be there tomorrow). They all (in this area) have dates on their stickers of 8-5 and 8-6. My date is 8-18. That may be an indication of ship order / date. So I might still be looking at a week-after-next delivery. I'll believe it when I sit in it.
  10. Hey, thanks for posting those. You forgot to get a pic of mine! Not more than 1 or 2 Kona Blues in the whole lot. I love driving a car with an unconventional color.
  11. I am going to drop the chrome grille for Kona Blue and "Give your Edge a contemporary monochrome look with a body-colored Grille Insert. Available primed and ready for paint. Dealer installation recommended." That's a direct quote from fordaccessoriesstore.com Check it out My dealer has quoted me around $200 +/- to purchase, paint and install.
  12. I was able to see last Friday's DNB. There is no info on the plant being idle. This week's isn't out yet. I also got confirmation from my dealer that my Edge's status is "shipped" in his system. He explained that it really doesn't necessarily mean it's actually on a train already, but the dealer has been charged for it and it's close enough to the end of assembly to be marked with that status. The CRC provided me with a 9/6 delivery date. That's Labor Day, and although my dealer expects to be open for sales, the body shop, service, etc. will be closed. If it happens to actually be delivered on that day (hey, it's possible!), since I will be having the grille swapped, that can't be done before 9/7.
  13. I'm not sure how things work. I have been provided conflicting information - from CRC and from dealer. I ordered my Edge on 7/23 and was given a VIN on 8/2. The build date on 8/2 was the week of 8/16 (this week). The VIN came from CRC with no build date - that came later that day from my dealer. Then last Friday 8/13, my dealer informed me that my build date had been pushed to the week of 8/30. Yesterday I was not able to see my system generated "Monroney Label" i.e. window sticker, but early this morning, there it was! It had a date of 8.18.10 - yesterday - on it. My dealer confirmed later this morning that the build date in their system was still 8/30. So, I thought I'd call CRC to see if they had any further info. I provided my VIN and she said the latest status dated 8.18.10 is "In Production." Does that mean it's being built? I asked. Yes. was the answer. I relayed that info to my sales guy, but have not heard back. I also asked if the window sticker was created when the vehicle made it to production - on the assembly line being built. She answered in the affirmative. So, I am glad that my Edge is being built. I cannot explain why my dealer still is being provided an 8/30 build date. I think anyone who can access their window sticker can assume their vehicle is in production. I think. I also heard somewhere in the past week or so that the Oakville plant would be down the week of 8/23. I asked the CRC rep about that. She said although she normally would hear such news, she had no information regarding that. So, believe whatcha will on the intertubes.
  14. "...for now." are the key words I was just informed that my week of 8/16 build date has changed to the week of 8/30. So word of caution... don't get attached to a given date. I was hoping to get delivery before Oct 1. Now I'm not so sure I'll make it.
  15. Adding to what Grey sez... Dealers can place a 'custom' order or a 'stock' order. I understand that the factory is not accepting 'custom' orders - or at least just recently they weren't. The likelyhood of the factory picking up the order if it's submitted as stock instead of custom is higher in these first couple months of 2011 production.
  16. I ordered a Kona Blue AWD Limited on 7/23. On 8/2 I was given a VIN by CRC, but no build date. Later on 8/2, my dealer gave me a build date of 8/16 (week of). So I hope that my Edge is one of the dealer's first 2011 arrivals in early Sept. We hope to have a delivery date some time this week.
  17. I ordered a 2011 Kona Blue Edge Limited AWD on July 23. I was given a VIN yesterday and a build date of August 16. I do not have an estimated delivery date yet, though.
