  1. I should have mentioned I have the Edge Limited FWD.
  2. Wow thats strange. I did a 700km highway trip last week, driving 100 to 110kph and the average (computer) was 8.7 liters per 100km...about 28mpg. I only have about 2000km on the car. Three weeks ago I did another highway drive of 300km, reset the reading before leaving, and the average was 9.0 per 100km...(about 50 of that distance was actually in town).
  3. I have mentioned the same issue in a couple posts. The detail is terrible compared to the Garmins (old or new). When I do significant travel I use the Garmin. In my area the maps are at least 8 years out of date. Definately need a map update.
  4. I have made several posts concerning the clock in my Edge. First it was 3.5 hours fast and showing Western European Time Zone. I was told I needed the 2.7 update. Did that and now it is 1.5 hours slow and showing Eastern Time Zone. The eastern time zone is exactly 1.5 hours behind my time. I have talked to the dealer and he has called and talked to Ford engineers and they were stumped that the 2.7 didn't correct the issue. They are working on the problem now and said they would phone or email me when a solution was found. However, when I deselect the GPS and set manually, the time will hold correctly. Long story short, the 2.7 have fixed some and not others. May I suggest, if you haven't already done so, call MFT 1-800-392-3673. I have talked to them several times and they suggested we call with issues that have not been corrected.
  5. Agree. Which I have been doing off and on for a few weeks. I have problems with the clock which does not sync with the GPS. All along it was 3.5 (2.5 after DST) fast and was showing Western European Time zone. They suggested getting the 2.7 update, which I did on Friday. Within minutes it was now 1.5 hours behind my time and showing Eastern Time Zone. The dealer has been calling the Ford engineers and I have been calling the 3673 number. Today an email was received saying the engineers were stumped and they were now working on the specific problem. They took my phone number and said they would call when they had it solved. This is not an earth shattering problem because it can be set manually and turning off the GPS switch. Basically 2.7 update didn't do anything that noticeable for me.
  6. Had mine updated yesterday. Clock still not correct. Haven`t checked the calendar.
  7. Had the 2.7 update today, mainly for the clock issue. Pulled out of the garage and checked the usual programs (Nav, Audio etc.) including the clock, which was correct. Got less than a KM and the clock was incorrect again. This time it was 1.5 hours slow while all along it was 2.5 hours fast. I noticed coming up on the screen was Eastern Time (EDT), which is exactly 1.5 hours earlier than my time of NDT. If I was in the Eastern Time Zone all would be good. Everything else worked ok, didn't notice anything significantly different from the 2.4 ver. The one thing that bothered me was Sirius Radio. Everyone else mentioned when they had the update they had to call Sirius to restart the program. My Sirius was still working and the only thing I had to do was pair the cell phone. Syncmyride is now showing I do have 2.7. Back to the garage on Monday if nothing changes in the meantime.
  8. So did 2.7 fix all of your 'minor' MFT issues? Just curious. I am going to get 2.7 today for a 'minor' issue (clock).
  9. I don't know of anyone in Canada that has received the letter! I called the MFT/Sync people on the phone last week and asked them if there was a fix for the clock/calendar issue and was told I needed the 2.7 update to correct the problem (I questioned them about the letter and why the syncmyride was not updated...but that's another story) and if the dealership had any questions to call their 800 number. When I went into the dealers Wednesday, they knew all about the 2.7 and to just bring the car into the shop on Friday and as I mentioned in an earlier post, they had already updated the cars on their lot. I will update you all on the weekend when/if (still a little pessimistic about updating) the update is completed.
  10. Maybe it's because MFT has gradually reduced the bugs in the system and thus less 'complaints' (Human Nature?). Although, not forgetting those that still have major problems.
  11. I've made my appointment for tomorrow, well let you know how things work out for me.
  12. The TeleNav maps are way out of date compared to Navteq. I have an old Garmin Nuvi with a more up to date map. My TeleNav map for my area is at least 8 years out of date. I love the 2011 Edge but my biggest disappointment is the Nav system. So I am gonna go with the new Garmin Nuvi 2460LMT.

    Oil Change

Ford told me 8000Km (5000 mi) as well.
  14. Gonna bite the bullet and take the car in on Friday for the 2.7 update with fingers and toes crossed. The appointment is for 2:30pm Friday, not sure if that gives them enough time to complete the update before closing at 5pm. I have read time frames anywhere from 1 hour to 4 hours...any comments? I was told they have updated all their cars on the lot and only one gave them trouble. May question them tomorrow on time frame for the update because we have a trip planned for the weekend.
  15. Great news. Must get off my butt and make an appointment for the update to see if I am as lucky as you with the clock issue.
  16. Congratulations Pat. I'm sure you will enjoy that ride when it arrives.
  17. I have v2.4 and everything works great except the clock. I did have a few glitches with the blind spot/cross traffic alert but that corrected itself weeks ago. The clock issue is minor for me but I was told on friday that the 2.7 will correct that problem. I wonder if anyone that had a clock/calendar problem got the 2.7 update and if it did correct this issue. I should add that I love the Ford Edge and can live with a few 'minor' ailments for awhile...BUT... the problems some people are having are certainly reason for 'major' concerns.'
  18. 2.7 not showing up on my syncmyride. I questioned them about that on Friday. The lady said she didn't know the reason but agreed with me that some were showing up and others weren't. She checked my VIN and said the 2.7 should have been on my Syncmyride. I also asked about the Ford letter (satisfaction) that was sent to some and not others, again she agreed but didn't know why and I was told that not everyone would be getting the letter. (Maybe it was just for US customers, although she didn't say that).
  19. I was told the exact same regarding the clock. So I think I will bite the bullet and get the 2.7 even though the only issue I have is the clock and hopefully new problems won't be occur because of the update.
  20. @ curlysir...I have the same problem with the clock and I was told yesterday by Sync/MFT that 2.7 will fix that issue. Did you get the 2.7 update & did it not fix the clock/calendar issue. I was hoping to get the car in the garage within the next couple weeks for the update.
  21. Tom, that's a start. You'll probably have to drive it for a week or two to determine if any of the past problems crop up again. Good luck.
  22. Looking forward to your report. Did you by any chance have problems with your clock or calendar? Basically that's my only lingering issue, which is not really a big issue anyway. However, I will get an update to correct it when/if one becomes available.
  23. I was concerned about that myself. So I updated FF and kept the older IE.
  24. Wilson after such a major operation, I suspect it will have at least 4 days in Bed...I mean in the Bay! With regular monthly visits after.
  25. Don't feel bad, I have noticed streets more than 8 years old not included and the detail on the maps is very poor. I'm sticking with my Garmin as well. But you'll probably love your ride.
