MPG will be very slightly lower. As for the ride it will be firmer, because of the smaller side wall so little road imperfections will be felt more over the 18's, the handling will be sharper. Stick with the 18's if you want the best ride. I like those new painted ones that used to be 17's last year, they look HOT.

Torsion suspensions are actively used today still, in the Mustang, Focus, Civic, Corolla. The EDGE has a 4 wheel independant suspension so, it doesn't even have a torsion beam.

Yeah, so? It's 2 dollars or 3 dollars extra per fill up tops, not as much as everyone makes it out to be. Definitely wait for the 09 Escape/Mariner/Tribute, they will all have 6 speed automatics.

15 in the city/24 on the highway. This is all VIA the trip computer, since I don't care too much about the MPG, but I reset it after every tank. Driving style in the city is very spirited so, that could be the reason why.

Retail=$32,250=2,551 lost, lets not get started on the fact that it could have been bought under invoice Another CX-9, Sport with Bose and Moonroof, $26,995, MSRP $32,145=5150 lost. That's excellent considering a year after so many new features we're added in, ESP a bigger engine. EDGE's EDGE, SEL with No options, $28,485 new Can be had here for $21,991 With 27,401 miles=$6494 lost. EDGE, SEL with AWD , $29,480 new can be had for $18,995 with 18,684mi=9465 lost.

Haha, wow. No I was not "Ticked" ever, you we're clearly going for the EDGE but you wanted to seem like you we're interested in the CX-9, you and your wife weren't really.

If you compare MPG ratings from last years CX-9 with the adjusted ratings, they're better by 1 mpg. They're not directly comparable anyway, too many things are different.

Excuse me, but the bigger engine=better mpg. Like I said, BLIS, bigger engine, better transmission, more cargo room, HID's, keyless start, side view mirror makers, rain sensing wipers, other little touches like indirect blue lighting, and another thing, resale value! Of course little thing like rain sensing wipers, BLIS, and side markers may seem like things you don't need, but they're safety features that come in handy. All of those little things add up to more bang for your buck, much more on the little things I didn't touch on like the rear vents can be adjusted in the rear for maximum comfort, Bose Audio, LED tail lights, manual mode etc.

I was talking about for the OP and others that use the thinner 20 weight, something ford only uses for CAFE. I have full synthetic 5W 30 in my EDGE.

Well why use 5W-20, I switched to 5W-30 after I hit 7K.

Yeah but a car shouldn't lose 10,000 dollars after 1 year, that's crazy to even accept such a thing. If I wanted to sell my CX-7 tomorrow it would have only lost me about 3K.
