  1. If the SEL wasn't affordable last month, it's still not affordable. I don't think rebates increased that much, did they?
  2. This has nothing to do with the car. You're just sending it to a Ford server somewhere that then forwards it to the car. The problem is either in the browser or on the Ford servers. It could also be in Mapquest. Have you tried other browsers?
  3. With DVDs it was every 2 years but with the SD cards it could be yearly.
  4. That's a slightly different scenario. The way you said it originally it sounded like you thought they should look up every TSB out on your vehicle and do something. A good service tech might point out that the wheels had a problem, but typically that's your responsibility to bring up. And even with a TSB that doesn't mean it gets fixed for free unless it's still under warranty.
  5. I've almost never gotten more than 3 years out of a battery. If it was me I'd change it if you get any more problems just to be safe.
  6. How old is the battery? Long shot but weak batteries can cause strange problems.
  7. Good luck convincing this crowd. I've tried til I'm blue in the face and they still want to blame Ford.
  8. Check engine light on? If so check the code. Could be the TCM.

You ask questions like my wife asks questions.
  10. I hope you realize that temperature has nothing to do with brightness (intensity) - it's just the color. Light output is usually measured in Lumens.
  11. As already mentioned - a TSB is not a recall. It's just instructions to help the technicians diagnose and repair a problem. If you report a symptom that matches a TSB then they might use that to fix the problem but it has nothing to do with warranty coverage.
  12. That 20 yr old Camry had much less restrictive emissions requirements. A new Camry would yield similarly disappointing mpg results on the same short trips compared to EPA ratings.
  13. If you drive mostly short trips (3 miles or less) your mileage will be terrible no matter how you drive because the engine doesn't have time to warm up.
  14. One person reported problems with the phone disconnecting after a few seconds of playing music, but that might be an isolated case.
  15. If you're using itunes then you can easily copy the songs to a flash drive using a free program iTunes Export. It works great.
  16. What does it say in the upper right hand corner of the screen? Does it just say Information or missing SD card? If it says information then your car did not come with navigation and you can't add it. If the dealer advertised it that way you have recourse. Map updates are currently available from Ford for $129 or thereabouts. There is only one upgrade available so far - A5. You can use up to a 32 gb usb drive for sure but it has to be powered by the usb port or you have to add an auxilliary power source. I think some have used a 64 gb also. Just make sure the format is FAT32. If your Escape didn't like your mp3s then the new one probably won't either. How do you store them on your computer?
  17. Strange that it's part of the PT warranty. Good, but strange. I guess in some cases they're connected to the engine, but still....
  18. So much for the "factory synthetic blend oil is crap and it won't last past 150K miles"........
  19. Maintenance is identical outside of a couple of filters for the cooled seats. Get the one you like the best or has the best price - whatever you prefer.
  20. You can double check to see if your vehicle should have been included, but if Ford didn't include it (and the dealer didn't make a mistake) it will be difficult to have it covered. Tricia is your best bet.

Not unless you have diagnostic equipment to test the parking sensors or pull codes. Make sure the sensors are not blocked with dirt or debris and look for loose wires. That's about all you can do yourself.
  22. Ok I'll buy that. It would have been more clear to say "it doesn't need the Can-bus adapter" than to simply say the Edge doesn't have Can-bus. I tend to take things very literally and that didn't make sense.
  23. All U.S. vehicles 2008 or later are required to use CAN bus protocols.
  24. Are you sure you're not referring to EOBD which is specific to European cars? Audi, e.g. has 3 different CAN buses, not a single one. The logic to determine if a bulb is burned out is not in the CAN bus itself but in the controller that turns the lights on and off and monitors the voltage and current and raises a fault with the main controller. Or perhaps the European mfrs all use the same vendor for some modules. Either way I still don't see a single CAN bus for European vehicles.
