Frybel, those say "Philips Style" in the description. I have the Philips Daylight 8s, and to dim, they modulate. Most people can't see the flicker, but I can if I move my eyes. It's similar to when I watch a DLP TV.

They're called "Tamper-proof Torx," and the auto parts stores have them.

I've been waiting for the pollen count to go down for that very reason.
