There is not a setting that you can adjust in Forscan that will allow the accent lights to automatically turn on as DRLs.

Yes, our Edge LED DRLs can be installed so that only the white LED DRL function is active.  Just don't connect the two turn signal trigger wires from our controller power harness.  Below is our installation video that shows how the trigger wires would be connected or in this case, not connected.

We have actually just moved from our DriveBright HID kits to an awesome LED headlight replacement bulb kit.  This new headlight LED bulb outperforms our HID kit and is so much easier to install. 

We have tested over 30 different LED headlight bulbs over the past 4 years. We finally came across this design.  You don't need to use tools to adjust the angle of the LEDs like you have to do with almost every other LED headlight bulb.  Just plug in our Bright TRAX LED headlight bulb to the vehicle plug and pop it in the headlight socket and your done. Just like changing a regular halogen bulb.

My SE does not have the puddle light holes, but I'm very interested in adding them. The wiring is no problem for me, but I'm curious as to where the hole needs to be cut in the mirror, and if there's anything in there that will be in the way once you cut through-wiring, linkage etc that you have to worry about ruining. I would be ordering a set of the bright lights led puddle lights if I do this... Any one have success cutting their own holes? I'd be interested in a write up... I'm also super interested in adding LED DRL, mine just HS the black inserts. If someone has some information for that, I'd be super interested in that as well!!!

There shouldn't be any interference once you get the hole cut. The mirror housing and internals are exactly the same as the mirrors with the holes.

Has anyone had a problem with these DRL kits? I've had one side go very dim suddenly. The white LEDS are very dim but the amber strip functions just fine. I think the LEDs are probably fine but maybe the supply current has somehow failed. Anyone else seen something similar?

Thanks for the great write up on your new Shadow Black LED tails with SPORT tinted lenses. They look great on your Edge. I am so glad you are happy with them.

Not sure on the 15-16 model, but on earlier Edges and most other vehicles, the entire map light housing is press fit into the headliner. All you would need to do is pry your fingers in between the headliner and the light housing and pull down. Can you see any exposed screws or fasteners inside the sunglasses holder area. That would be where they would likely be if there were any fasteners holding it in. There or maybe under the lamp lens(s).

Hi Denicio,

Not sure why you are having a brightness issue with oncoming drivers. We have sold dozens of our HID kits to 2015 Edge owners and have had only good things said about the performance. Please confirm that you have the bulbs properly seated in the projector housing with all of the tabs inserted in the respective slots. If the bulb is misaligned, it will throw the beam of light at a strange angle that could cause problems with oncoming drives.

So I recently just bought an SE edge and really wanted to put the vertical LED running lights that are in the bumper. I want to know if that's possible if it just comes with the black insert pieces. And does it have the wiring for it or do you have to buy the whole wiring. Or is there another way to install those and not void the warranty. I want to do this in a way it's not going to void any warranty and something a Ford dealer would do.

I have a Canadian 2011 Ford Edge SEL and have installed the kit. It works very well. I also have the HID kit installed from AbsoluteHID and they too work very well. I have not hooked up the LED dimming trigger wire yet because the headlights are the DRLs as well. So has anyone considered hooking the dimming wire into the automatic dimming circuit? I don't want to have the computer reprogrammed to run the signal lighting as DRLs.

 

The ambient light sensor on the dashboard senses when it's time to dim the instrument cluster so there is a signal wire somewhere that could be used to dim the LEDs. I just need to find that wire. Thanks.

I appreciate the calm discussion about some of the fitment issues we have run into with our new LED puddle lights. We have made several changes to the design to eliminate the lens fitment issue and the clearance issues relating to the electrical pin location at the top of the puddle lights. We have relocated the electrical pins to the side of the light similar to the stock Ford light, so there is no longer a clearance issue with the wire connections. We have also made changes to the size of the locking tab, so the puddle lights should now lock firmly in place.

The locking tab seems to be the most challenging feature to get right. These puddle lights are used on dozens of different Ford and Lincoln vehicles and we have found that the mirror openings very slightly from one model to the other and from one model year to another. So narrowing in on the one size fits all target has taken us a bit of time. But we believe we have figured it out now and our new LED puddle lights we are now offering should work great. And with the longer than usual 2 year warranty, you can be assured your LED puddle lights will last a long time.

Though these fitment issues have been somewhat rare, we are taking care of the customers with the problems and sending replacements as soon as we hear from the customer. We pick up the cost to ship the non fitting lights back to us as well.

Again, I do appreciate the excellent treatment given us by our customers while we dial in the design of this new product. Your understanding is very welcome.
