Got my shiny blue package yesterday! (Saint John, New Brunswick). Was kind of losing hope. The packaging as well as the carton inside have both English and French. The plastic blisterpack with the SD and USB key is in English only. When I saw the package I thought it was a birthday present, all shiny and pretty! LOL I'm at work now, am tempted to run out to the parking lot and set this install going. _______________________________________________ EDIT - Install went smooth. Came back out 50 mins after start and it was complete. Definitely smoother/faster. New nav looks slick. Album cover art is smaller. And I miss the outside temp in center, but it is still on the right cluster.

Man, if this is just the 2.11 I'll be a little upset. I purposely stayed at v2.4 version because of all the comments some folks here made that their MFT worked crappier with 2.11. Mine was working pretty good already I'm still here at the dealer, 1.5 hours and counting. ETA: OK. Got my car back. Yep, you were right. It's v2.11. I confirmed it on Syncmyride.com. What a waste of time. At quick glance it looks like it works at least as well as before. I could tell it was v2.11 when I saw the same old screens. That guy didn't know what he was talking about or he was just BSing me. Last week he said that the upgrade just came in the week before. I knew 2.11 was out for quite a while, so I figured if this just came out it must be the rewrite. Ahh, well....

My update: Had my '11 Edge in for scheduled maintenance last week. I asked about the new MFT software upgrade and the email I got from Ford stating Q1 2012. Service guy made a call and then told me the new software was in. I was right...at least in Canada they are not sending out flash drives. The upgrade is done by the dealer. I'm booked in for later this morning. I'll let you guys know how it goes. *crossing my fingers*

On my 2011 Edge, I have to press the Lock button once and then the Start button twice. Is that same for 2012?

"... improved screen refresh rates...", " ...improved response to touch..." I don't believe those changes can be made through software. The touch response is totally hardware dependent, unless they were using software to slow down response times which makes no sense. The look and new font sizes look good, though.

I also have had virtually no problem with my MFT Gen2 v2.4. Bought my Edge SEL in August. Three incidents since then. 1) (Sept) On I-95 just outside Boston the nav would ocasionally say " No nav" (or off route or something like that) and then it would come back on. 2) (Sept) One time my iPhone wouldn't connect. I was just going to work and I didn't bother trying to fix it. When I started it up to go home, the phone connected. 3) (Nov) One other time my phone wouldn't connect for 2 days in a row. I used the USB reboot and after the maintebnance screen, my phone connected. No "appreciable"problems since then. I have seen lag sometimes but that seems to be when the system is indexing a USB device or the Nav is booting. PS - I just got an email from Ford Canada outlining the new MFT rewrite and that it would be available in early 2012. Seems they won't be mailing us Canadians a USB key. We have to go to the dealer.

It is incorrect. If you look on the MFT screen in the Climate tab, there are 2 red lights on each seat picture. Press it once and both seat and seatback heat up. Press it again and the seatback heat turns off but the seat remains on. Press it again to turn off completely.

I D/L'd the update to my USB stick but I'm just going to keep it there for now. My MFT is working flawlessly *crosses fingers* . Since I got my Edge back in Aug 2 I have had only one crash/ reboot . I pick and choose tracks, artists, and playlists from my 1000+ songs daily and it works great. Voice for Phone and Nav work great. I don't use voice for climate but I keep it on Auto so never change temp anyway.

Nice review. Comments below on your points that I noticed: 7) The panoramic roof DOES have auto open/close. Seems yours (as was mine) needs to be initailized. There is a thread in here about how to initialize the roof to one-touch open/close. 18) There is a 12V power outlet below the passenger side of the center stack rear storage. Unless you meant in addition to this one. 23) Daytime running lights. Mine has them (headlights on when transmission out of Park) but I am in Canada where DRL are mandatory on all vehicles. From what I understand there is a setting that your dealer can make in the system for you.

I was lead to believe that nitrogen keeps a more constant pressure and does not fluctuate tire pressures in heat or cold as air does.

Mine was all ready to go when I picked my Edge up. The initial subscription is for 6 months. Funny, SIRIUS browse feature locked mine up too! Had to shut car off and cause system restart. I only tried the browse the one time.

Just got my NuShield the other day. Installed it and it looks great. Great fit. Is it just my imagination or does the difference in contrast/glare cutting make the screen respond a little better?? Maybe its all psychological but it sure seems much more responsive than before.

It is too bad those three things are not available on the Edge in your country. Two are available in SEL and Limited here in North America; the Park Assist is not an option here on the Edge. Also one more trim level above Limited is the Sport. Personally, I would choose the car I liked better, but if those 3 options are something you really want then you should get the Explorer.

Nice buy. I paid that much for an '11 SEL AWD Different thoughts about the MFT v2.11...Some folks (like me) have an older v2.4 that runs perfectly. There's no rhyme nor reason that we all have different MFT experiences with the very same hardware.

Hopefully they don't offer MFT Vista with the Vista Roof as a package next year. LOL

That's an awesome idea. Is it a toggle or a pushbutton/reset type?

OK...After 19 days of ownership and flawless MFT, I had my first glitch today. Started car up, phone synced up, iPod was already connected via USB. On Entertainment screen there was a popup that said "iPhone disconnected." It won't go away. I tried the phone, it works. The iPod is playing songs. I even powered down the phone and after MFT said no phone connected I powered on my phone again. In the Main screen, the top left corner says "iPhone connected" yet in the Entertainment screen it still says "iPhone disconnected". The phone IS connected...it works. I'm afraid I'm going to have to do the infamous Fuse 29 pull.

That's a bummer, Dingo. I'm having the same problem with my TV at home. It can see my iPod and any flash drive but no HDD (even with FAT32)

I just looked at my car sticker and it doesn't have the Rapid Spec 201A. I thought it was with the full MFT system, but apparently not. I went to Ford and asked about the price of the rearview cam. $499!!! Yikes. OK, you gurus. If I bought an aftermarket cam, is it as simple as plugging the RCA jack into the back of the MFT screen/unit? After connecting power and ground, of course. I'm thinking wireless system, because I couldn't bear the thought of taking apart my interior, running wire and later on it developing squeaks and rattles. I know the MFT system is looking for a cam because after a reboot the very last screen before starting up says "Rear view camera not activated." or something like that.

...but what it says is a $1000 option on SEL, but standard on LTD and Sport. Let's ask this way: Does anyone here have an SEL that has MFT w/ Nav and backup cam?
