  1. Did I get ripped off? I just assumed I didn't have the rear backup camera. I do have the backup proximity beeper though. My SEL AWD has the SYNC/MyFord Touch & Voice Nav. Am I supposed to have the camera?? From the Ford Options webpage: "201A SEL $1,000 MyFord Touch w/8-inch touch screen and 2 LCD monitors, wireless cell phone link, iPod adapter, voice recognition, rearview camera. Standard on LImited, Sport." I did notice once on a system reboot that the 8" screen said something like "Back up camera not installed" or something like that.
  2. When I bought my Edge, I got a 5 year Tire & Rim Road Hazard Warranty ( for $399) from the dealer. I don't have the 22" but I do have the 18" chrome-clads that were a $760 option..
  3. Are you guys talking about an '11 without SYNC? If you have SYNC, why would you want/need to mount your phone on the dash? I stick mine in the cubbyhole behind the center stack.
  4. I may be wrong, but I read in the Owners Manual (see Pg 135) that if you have the numeric keypad on the door you can create a personal access code that includes seat memory. "Programming a personal entry code and keypad association to memory feature To create your own personal entry code: 1. Enter the factory set code. 2. Within five seconds press the 1 • 2 on the keypad. 3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other. 4. For memory recall feature, enter the sixth digit 1 • 2 to store driver 1 settings or 3 • 4 to store driver 2 settings." I'll have to check this out in person later today.
  5. We get ripped off so bad in Canada. We don't have that Travel Link, we don't have the Vehicle Health Report. It seems in the US, ALL Edges have the backup cam but I was told we dont have in Canada. We must have all the hookup for it; one time my system was rebooting and at the end it said "Backup camera not activated."
  6. I agree it sounds high for city driving. I had my SEL AWD for a week now and according to the computer I'm getting 16.2l/100km average. I'll have to set my trip odom next tank so I can do manual calulation.
  7. Nav option on the left instrument panel is cool. I knew it showed a 3D ball compass and the street name but last night I was cruising on a provincial subroad where the speed limit was 70kph ( I was doing 80) Anyway, in the compass view, there also was a small speed limit sign that said 70kph on it. I never noticed that before. LOL It went out when I reduced speed to within the speed limit.
  8. I don't know if my dealer was BSing me but he told me that the maps will be updated annually and the cost was $40. He said you wouldnt have to get one every year if you didn't want to but if you were planning a trip would be a good idea to get the updated maps. ETA: Heres some pics of the box mine came in.
  9. Sorry to hear you got a lemon of a MFT system. I count myslef lucky that I have v2.4 and absolutely zero defects. I also refuse to believe I'm the only one who got a fully working system. As was stated before by another poster...its uncanny that we all have the very same hardware and software in our Edges yet different people experience different errors/bugs.
  10. I'm with you on this. "BT4T-14D544-BE Gen2 - V2.4 SYNC GEN 2 IMAGE CI 8/7/2011" I picked up my Edge SEL last Tuesday. To date I have seen zero problems with my version 2.4 I guess I'll wait for the coming total rewrite.
  11. I could have sworn I read in the manual that Edge has battery protection by turning off all lamps after 10 minutes?
  12. If you have MyFord Touch, then you dont have to scroll thru the menus to select a certain song. Use the voice command "USB, play track ___" or "USB, play artist ___" PS - I use my iPhone for the iPod functions. Works flawlessly with MFT.
  13. Sounds good enough, choff. I did a rigorous testing this afternoon of MFT and found absolutely zero defects. Incredible! The only thing I couldn't do was read/reply to texts but apparently my phone (iPhone 3GS) doesn't support it. Also the SYNC Services which apparently are not available in Canada anyway. I'll stay with v2.4 until maybe a version 3.x comes along. Surely to God by the time Ford rolls MFT out on other cars in 2012 they will have a stable system.
  14. I did that and printed it above. Too bad the dates weren't included also in the report. Here it is again: Sync VersionGen2 - V2.4 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D546-AG SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F603-AG
  15. Same deal with mine. I told dealer that newest update was v2.11. He said "I'm sure they'll get it all current for you before we give it to you." I just came from syncmyride.com and did the check and I also have v2.4 --------------------------------------- Sync VersionGen2 - V2.4 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D546-AG SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F603-AG ----------------------------------------- The thing is, I haven't seen ANY bugs/glitches in my system that other forumers posted about. None. It works like a charm. Does "If it ain't broken, don't fix it" apply here? I'm afraid that if I do get an upgrade that something will stop working. Anyone else have an "older version" that works?
  16. ...and am loving it so far. I have tested everything on MFT except the Nav and that's next. At first my USB would show the tracks playing but no sound. Sirius and AM/FM played sound but not the USB. I disconnected my iPod and reconnected it and it worked like a charm. One thing that didn't seem to work was the phone button on the steering wheel. I'd make a call with the voice recog and then when finished I pushed the hang up phone button. No hang up. I tried "End Call" on voice. It muted the call but didn't hang up. I ended up ending the call via the center touch screen. I'll test this out some more later today. I'm grinnin' ear-to-ear overall. The ride. Man, what a smooth ride. And next to no vibration on the steering wheel. Cruised to 120K/ph on the highway before I knew it. Speed sure can creep up to you on this thing. PS- How do I check what software version I have? The dealer didn't seem to know. I told him version 2.11 just came out. He said he imagined they would have updated everything before giving it to me. Right. You know what assuming does, right? ETA: Oh, I'm in New Brunswick, Canada BTW. Hi to all you Edge owners!
  17. I agree. Just saying that they could have eliminated one of them by having a left/right toggle above the remaining D-pad.
  18. OK, now how do I tell what version I have? Wow, I'm a little worried now after seeing all the posts about problems with MFT. My very limited personal testing of MFT worked flawlessly but again, only during a 20 minute test drive and 10 minutes sitting in the Ford parking lot. I pick my Edge up on Tuesday.
  19. What do you folks think of the dual 4-way controllers on the steering wheel for the two instrument screens around the speedo? Do you ever hit them inadvertently while turning the wheel? Ford could have made it simpler with one controller and a toggle switch to select right cluster or left cluster similar to the way side mirror controls work. You switch control to drivers side mirror, move it how you want then switch to pass side mirror and move it with the same controller.
  20. Really? What are some of these issues with MFT? I haven't picked my Edge up yet; I get it on Tuesday. I played a little with everything except the NAV as the SD card wasn't in the slot. Salesman said they are locked up as they have a habit of disappearing and cost $700
  21. Bought mine yesterday, will pick up Tuesday as Monday is a holiday. 2011 Edge SEL AWD L6 Kona Blue Metallic Charcoal leather 60Q Canadian Comfort Pkg 66B SYNC/MFT 52N NAV 51E Drivers Entry Pkg 64D 18" Chrome wheels 86A Ambient Lighting MSRP 45,329.00... I paid 35,700. plus 3000.00 trade.
