  1. Interested to know if the factory nav can run in the background with voice prompts for turns while using the lock pic to watch videos.
  2. Testing in a parking lot would be great. My old Mazda 3 had an aftermarket nav/head unit that could play video from an iPhone and such. It was great on our annual trips to FL. My wife could watch movies and I could listen. I understand the need to not allow that feature to the mass market, but I also know that I have no distraction issues while driving. It's just like listening to book on disc to me.
  3. I believe they have full video instructions on YouTube. And definitely give an update after the install. I'm considering purchasing as well, and would like to know if the nav turn by turn voice functions while a movie is playing on screen.
  4. I saw this over on ETR. Impressive, when I had my R6 the biggest thing I tackled was installing an Ivan's jet kit...and that made me crazy nervous I was going to screw up something. That bike was a lot of fun.
  5. I never ever trust the sales person. Do your own research before hand. Ask them question you know the awnser to. I've had one get so wrapped up in his own lie he confused himself. Also read the sticker, if an option is listed I'll say show me how that works. If they can't then its see ya later.
  6. Settings/ Display/ there is a section that says Day Night Auto then Off. Select off and it goes black. This is with the key on but the car not started. Should help to not drain the battery too much. If your dash lights don't go down enough for you take a black t-shirt and shove it in the gauge cluster.
  7. You can turn the dash lights down and turn the touch screen off, but it still plays the radio
  8. Grab lower back panel and pull out. You will hear a pop. Then slide the panel down.
  9. I had to toggle the BT off on a few times. Also disconect and reconnect on MFT.
  10. I prefer the look of a light pipe in the headlight housing. I would def buy something like this for a 2011-13 Edge.
  11. Nope, even has certified preowned warranty. Service guy said he keyed in the part numbers and they come up not covered.
  12. 2011 Edge, SEL with MFT..... Button on screen lights up but no heat in the passenger seat. Drivers side works great. Took it to the dealer, they quoted 865.00 to replace the upper back pad and seat cushion. I asked for the part numbers that needed to be replaced, tech gave me the numbers, ordered and replaced the pads....still no heat in the passenger side. Any thoughts? Did they even check the fuse?? I would but damn I can't find any info on which fuse it is or where it is. I've always worked on my cars everything from custom stereos the full blown motor swaps. These "high tech" features are stumping me. Mostly cause I don't feel like buying a full shop manual.....but I may have to. Oh and I found a great factory parts place in FL. Great discounts and fast shipping. When looking for seat parts I did see a seat heater module??? But it didn't specify right or left, and I don't even think I could locate it. Any help would be great.
  13. Sorry, let this slip my mind. You can click the link to auto download the zip file. Should have the 3 files you wanted. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qz55skzi5zn1hw6/Archive.zip
  14. Tacyon, l'll post a download link to them tomorrow. I've made about 20 or so, but I tend to keep going back to the circles one the most.
  15. Not hard at all, just 4 bolts and 2 plugs. I just took mine out last saturday to replace the heated cushion....dealer wanted $786.00 to do it. All in all talking the seat out will take about 15 min, the hardest cover to pop is the front right cover. Its a 2 piece cover, front cap and long piece that runs down the length of the seat. Pop the front cap there it a small star screw, then slide the side piece forward. The rear bolt covers: reach under the seat to the inner part of the rail, pull the end of the cover inward toward the center of the seat area, then slide it back. I will say that the seat is a heavy bitch, I would just fold it forward all the way and then lean it back to rest against the rear seat to clean underneath. Hope that helps.
  16. Is the matte body color of your edge black? From the lighting it looks like a warm grey or pewter color. Seems to be a slight color difference in the body and lower trim, which I like.
