  1. Your tires maintaining pressure? Could be a bad wheel sensor, providing erroneous data.
  2. The grownups pay no attention to the kids at play Best of luck with the handover, and best wishes for Si & Stump to get a great home!
  3. Welcome & congrats, Bryan! Look forward to your participation and hope you gain much out of being a member here.
  4. Welcome & congrats, both on the new Edge & your wedding Post some pix of your ride(s) There's plenty of info all over this forum for electronic & exhaust modifications. I will point you to this thread I started as a launching point, but it is hardly all-inclusive: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12565-how-tos-powertrain-electronics-body-more/ Tuning is currently only by Unleashed Tuning (Torrie McPhail) that I know of. There are other, smaller/one-off tuners for sure, but Torrie is a well-established & respected tuner. Unless you have a 3.7L (shared with the Mustang), no throttle body options to speak of. The Sprint Booster is the closest thing you can get to taking the ETC out of the equation, but a tune probably best option all-around. There used to be a made-for-show-only turbo Edge, but when I asked them how much, they told me a minimum of $8,000 for the kit. Exhaust systems are very personal, but Magnaflow is a good start (catback/Xpipe). Gibson has also been mentioned as a good sounding, cheaper alternative. EGR makes some excellent running boards/visors for the Edge.
  5. I wish we could get Nokian tyres locally! I think they are all in the Wisconsin/Illinois area & above latitudes, based on my search when you initially recommended them
  6. The 442s were cool cars, see them every now & then on the auction shows.
  7. Would get all 4 replaced if doing snow tires. Extra set of wheels would be nice to have in this case. Otherwise, go with top of the line all-seasons for CUVs (Continental, Yokohama, etc). Reviews on Tirerack.com. Ultimately, driver sensibility is key to vehicle control.
  8. Money making operations at their best! These guys don't think about how it reflects on the manufacturer OR themselves. "Oh, they'll never know, and we need to get our trainees trained at their expense." BUT, there ARE good dealers out there, hope you find one you like soon & closeby too!

  10. Welcome & congratulations! Did you get a new or nused one? You guys are having a serious winter up there, glad I'm a wee bit away (shudder). This forum is VERY good at providing insights with issues for the Edge/MKX, and other vehicles too (put those Qs in the general/chitchat section). Because of member participation, the knowledgebase continues to grow & thrive. See you around on here
  11. All the more reason we need these forums to exist! Self-help & all that.
  12. Still breaking in. Are you featherfooting or stepping into the gas quite a bit? It does make a difference (quite a bit), well after being broken in.
  13. Consider a dust mask while replacing. Allergies don't need much to harass you
  14. Reflash, and if necessary, valve body. Production date? And BTW, welcome!
  15. Probably a malfunctioning multifunction switch (or a blown fuse if all the wipers are inoperative). This link may shed some light: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12632-right-blinker-wont-stay-on-possible-causes/ The MFS removal/installation procedure: Removal and Installation NOTE: Release the upper steering column shroud by pressing inward on the sides of the shroud and lifting upwards. Remove the upper steering column shroud.Release the tilt lever, remove the 3 screws and then remove the lower steering column shroud.Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connector.Remove the 2 multi-function switch screws and remove the switch. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  16. Cold weather loves to put crimps in plans! Hope you get both items done successfully & get back to enjoying being the driver, not the mechanic.

    New Year

Thank you (sentiment ECHO ECHo ECho Echo echo'd)
  18. Wow! How the heck did THAT happen? So the problem with the camera was a software issue? Hopefully they can provide some specific info that will help other forlorn Edge owners out for a helpful dealership.
  19. Welcome & congrats, fellow Marylander! I don't think you missed out by not having AWD, tho I got one because I wanted one enough From all reports, the FWD Edges do splendidly in all weather, assuming the wheels are properly dressed & enough common sense is applied! Plus you get to miss out on the remote possibility of having to have your PTU replaced or leaky seal fixed etc & no ugly driveshaft to (surface) rust. Now, the bonus is better mileage, AND if you wanted to put in a true dual exhaust, you have ample room! AEM filters or Green filters are also well liked, if you want an alternative to K&N. Pix please!!!
  20. Battery starts the car, then alternator takes over and charges battery while car runs (assuming enough rpms are reached to overcome auxiliary demand). That's my understanding for "normal" non-hybrid vehicles. You can get one of these to help you check voltages easily. Starter could very well have gone bad on you (clutch not engaging the flywheel), get it checked out. Another thing, you start the Edge in PARK mode? I hope you do not have a starting problem again, but if you do, try starting in NEUTRAL mode. I don't think the trans/safety switches are involved here, but could be.
  21. Probably need warmer weather/heat gun to make the plastic more pliable. I tried to do remove the fog lamp housing too, to update the lighting. Budged, but not enough, even with both hands and all kind of pry tools at the ready
