Maybe the switch doesn't allow as much voltage or power through it on the AUTO setting compared to the ON setting? This would be ok for halogens, but since HIDs have a relatively high startup "cost", the problem would be triggered (no pun intended).

Finally got around to getting the Edge washed. Had enough of the winter c*** sitting on it (not caked tho). So tried something different. Spritzed the exterior with mix of Zep Citrus & Dawn 1:1 (thanks Richy!). Drove to the carwash and got an express wash, let the pressure washer work its magic. I have to say this worked out really well. Even though some of the crap got right back on it while driving home

Turned out really well Turn heads for sure.

My 95 SHO was rated at 19/26. On the highway, I would get 29-30 mpg (without being overly light on throttle or speed). City was pretty much bangon. Being leadfooted definitely costs MPGs, even more so if the vehicle is not in tiptop shape.

When you say "flushed heater core" did you actually mean you flushed the cooling system? Or did you disconnect/T those hoses and flush JUST the core? Right now, all kinds of possibilities are open, including: low coolant level, air trapped, thermostat opening too early or stuck open, cooling fans running all the time. Does your coolant temp gauge rise to normal and stay there while driving, or ever go towards the HOT side?

I think thirdgenlxi had done something similar for his Edge. Search the forum, and/or PM him. If you want the navigation to work, you probably have to get the unit activated the way he did.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your Edge! Good work on your upgrades and great list of future upgrades. What wheels did you go with? If tinting windows is legal in PR, you might want to get the fronts & windshield done also. What engine work are you looking to do, for appearance or power or both?

I guess the Edge would actually be a collectible in Finland Gas prices are $3.29/gallon in my area, can't even THINK of $8. Combine that with winter/snow tires, that would hurt even more!

Since a flush & fill was done, I'd check the fluid level first. (Hopefully they put in the correct fluid.) Incorrect levels can cause all kinds of problems. After that, look for any leaks. Then, look at the TSS/OSS sensors as possible culprits. Check for codes? AutoZone or Advance Auto or major auto parts retailers should be able to pull them for you for free.

Any references for 6F50 limits? TIA.

A very cohesive set of upgrades, looks good I assume you put LED reverse lights in? Are the black emblems overlays or replacements? Links?

The nice thing is, since the 3.7L is shared with the Mustang, you can probably utilize the same upgrades the ponycar owners do. Then throw a tune on it to burn some rubber. Look up BobC (Bob C?)'s posts to get a glimpse into this.

Hope everything checks out a-ok. Definitely take the Edge for a highway cruise once in a while, that really helps in keeping the battery charged.

I will defer to someone with actual experience on this job, but here is the info from the Ford workshop manual for the heated valve (early '07s, 2C5Z-6A666-AA): Removal and Installation Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve electrical connector.Disconnect the PCV hose from the PCV valve. CAUTION: A new PCV valve must be installed if removed from the valve cover. Upon removal, damage will occur to the locking mechanism on the PCV valve. NOTE: To install, apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal. NOTE: Upon installation, make sure the PCV valve electrical connector is pointing in the correct position to allow the wiring harness to be connected. Incorrect installation would require removal and installation of a new valve. Rotate the PCV valve counterclockwise and remove from the valve cover. Discard the PCV valve. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
