Thanks. Why SunTek and what is CXP tint?

Purchased a used 2010 Ford Edge Limited back in September, 2012 and am considering getting the front windows tinted to match the rest of the tinting. I have never had this done before so if there are any experts out there who can give me advice, I would appreciate it. I was also hoping to get the front windshield done to help minimize the awful glare from the dash, but legally it can't be tinted even as dark as the factory installed tint in the rear windows. I'm in South Carolina so I don't know what the laws are regarding the darkness of the tint. Also, if you can educate me on the different types of tint I would really appreciate it. It gets hot here in Charleston, SC so I'm looking forward to the tinted windows helping to keep the vehicle cooler while I'm driving or even while parked.

In the center? I have plastic covers on the one's closest to the doors but not in the middle.

Okay, here goes. Coming from a gal with self-diagnosed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I have been bugged by the missing plastic seat base brackets in the rear of the vehicle. I'm not sure if these are missing (since I purchased our 2010 Ford Edge Limited used) or if Ford cut some corners. So, on your floor in the back, do you have plastic brackets covering BOTH steel bolts holding the seats in place? If so, I have been on the search to get the parts # and the pricing. Any takers?

Thanks guys! Guess that's what insurance is for. We haven't had any claims EVER. This year..two...one homeowners (broken water pipe and $40,000 + claim) and now auto. Best thing is nobody was hurt..just my pride. Perhaps I was to learn more than to slow down...maybe I have gained some humility.

So, here we are just a little less than a month into owning this used (18,000 mile) 2010 Ford Edge Limited in Dark Ink Blue Metallic. I parked the Edge right at the "edge" of our garage (outside) to open the tailgate and unload our power washer from the back. I close the hatch after vacuuming out the back. I reopen it a few minutes later to place bungee cords back in, jump into the front seat, start the vehicle and back up while hearing this AWFUL NOISE! IMMEDIATE BRAKE! Realizing my shear stupidity and my complete lapse in brain power, I yelled many expletives after immediately stopping. I close the hatch while in the driver's seat and proceed to backup. After all, my neighbors were outside and if they saw this, I was not up for sharing this most embarrassing and upsetting moment. I go inside the house, cry (not typically a very emotional woman) and then go back to assess the damage. While the automatic hatch still closes, there is clearly enough damage that the back panel may have to be replaced and if there is any damage to the frame (there is a little excess tightness to the hatch closing) the entire hatch may have to be replaced. Then again, I am no body shop expert. I was not backing up quickly but was so close to the garage while backing up that the top of the hatch was dented in from the garage frame and the paint is chipped. These women drivers are dangerous, gentlemen, you are right! Tell ya what, this kind of thing happens because I'm constantly moving in fast motion trying to accomplish the next thing on my list (the cost of efficiency or is it inefficiency?) while my 2 girls are in school and my husband is at work. Guess I better sloooooow down. Gotta take the Edge to the body shop next week. So terribly disappointed with myself. :-(

Also, what is the purpose of the clips inside the lid?

Purchased a used 2010 Edge Limited and was curious to find out what might be missing from inside the cavernous console. I have the large tray that separates the top section from the cavern. So, what's missing? Coin holder? What are the 3 short slots towards the front top of the console? I was thinking maybe that's where the coin holder is supposed to be? Also, I know the lid has a spot for a small bag of Kleenex but what's with the paperclip "thingy "?

My husband and I purchased a used 2010 Ford Edge Limited (dark ink blue) from a local Ford dealer 3 weeks ago. Great vehicle after coming from a 1999 Ford Explorer which was also wonderful. Anyway, after washing the vehicle and waxing it, I noticed quite a lot of what appears to be hard water stains on the paint just about everywhere. I read that distilled vinegar will take those off but am skeptical of that. Any ideas how to remove them? Also, what is the best product to protect the chrome clad (plastic) wheels, the grill and surrounding area around fog lights? Thank you! Lisa

Old post , but still I wanted to add. Bought a 2010 Ford Edge Limited about 3 weeks ago. Dealer wanted to charge $75 to change it. I Googled it and quickly found a YouTube video showing how to.change it. $13 for the replacement at an auto parts store and 10 minutes of my time to change it ...priceless

Too bad. Seems all companies are looking to cut corners. My 1999 Ford Explorer Limited came with the Limited Embroidered carpet mats. With that being said, I was looking for some carpetted mats with Limited or Edge Limited embroidered on them. Any thoughts? I have not found any yet.

Googling has not helped me find the answer for which I'm searching. We purchased a 2010 Ford Edge Limited after trading in our 1999 Ford Exploder Limited. The Exploder had good quality carpet mats with Limited Embroidered on them for the front. Did the Edge have anything embossed on them? I'm just wondering if these were the originals because they seem so cheap. They are just plain. The ones in the back seat are very small, also.
