  1. How about the vehicle registration to transfer the ownership from Ford credit to my name? Does the dealer takes care of that also? I was told that I will have to go to a vehicle registration outlet to make the transfer and I may have to pay extra taxes like when you buy a used car
  2. The lease on my 2016 Edge Titanium FWD expires April-2020 and among my options I consider to pay cash the residual value (CAD$17,000 + Tax) and keep the car. I only have 31,000km on it and I love my car which is in like new condition. I never done this before so I wonder what the procedure is. I leased the car from a Ford dealer so I assume that I can go to any Ford dealer to complete the transaction. Does it matter if I go to the same Ford dealer? Would the dealer make all required paper work to transfer ownership? Is there anything I should be aware?
  3. That makes my original question harder to understand. So if the tires are not rotating where my TPMS system gets the readings to show them in my dash? As I said my winter tires have no TPMS sensors
  4. Out of curiosity how the TPMS system works? Somehow I believe the sensors on each tire they need some kind of power to be able to send the signal. If that’s true then when the tires are removed from the car the sensors inside these tires should be dead?
  5. Back in 2016 when I leased my new FWD Titanium Edge it came with the TPMS sensors installed in the 4 all season tires. My 4 winter tires do not have TPMS sensors and when I switch tires from summer to winter I store the original 4 season tires in my garage and next to my Edge (I do the change myself) So in the winter when I drive up to an approx. radius of 20 miles the TPMS system shows the "pressure" of my winter tires regardless if I stop/start the engine while out shopping. If I go further out of the 20 miles range the TPMS system shows nothing and I get a message (forget what exactly says but is related to having no air in my tires). Is this normal?
  6. I downloaded the 2019 Edge owners manual to educate myself ahead of time and I read about it akirby, just a few new points to know, not a big deal.
  7. Glad to hear the positive comments..... The negative comments I read were not related to Edge or any other manufacturer. The two I remember were both of stupid things people can do like.... person jumping out of car to jip to a store and left the car running, door open and the car rolled... or how you move the car with a dead battery and the gear selector on P Regardless, I’m an Edge man and my next one will be the 3rd since 2013
  8. I’m just guessing the new rotary gear selector stated with the 2019 Edge. Do you have any good / bad comments about it. I will be looking at 2020 Edge when it arrives in Canada and I read some negative comments on the web about this new gear selector type
  9. Thanks akirby for the heads up, guess I was too early and will wait to visit Ford in October. I see from the Titanium equipment list there are quite a few options I would like to have so it will be a difficult choice to switch to an SEL.
  10. My FWD 2016 Edge Titanium lease will expire in 6 months and I’m looking for a new one. Prior to my 2016 Edge I had the 2013 Limited and I enjoyed both very much. Ford.ca does not have right now a 2020 Edge but they do have 2020 Explorer and some other models and I wonder if a 2020 Edge will be available perhaps later? I plan this time to get the SEL FWD to save some money. The only difference I see between the Titanium and SEL is the SEL does not have leather seats neither heated steering (which I don’t care that much) but the price difference between the 2 is approx. CAD$6,000. I priced the basic model for both on the web and I wonder if I missed something. Thanks
  11. 2016 Edge Titanium, 2WD: While I was driving yesterday I noticed the rear air vent (at the back of the center console) was blowing warm air and all front vents were blowing cold air like they should. At 100F exterior temperature I had set the AC at 64F for me and the wife had hers at 72F. I found this very unusual because I keep my little Shih-Tzu at the back and often I put my hand at the back vent to check the air is blowing at the right height and couple of day ago it was blowing cold air. Checking the Owners manual to see if there is a setting for that I found none. Is there a setting somewhere to correct the above problem?
  12. I don’t agree brother, TPMS is a convenience and a safety for many and although I agree people for centuries got along fine without TPMS in todays fast pace world not too many of us has the time to check tires pressure like we used to do. It’s like the smart phones, Internet, smart TV’s and so on, people got along fine for centuries without these “conveniences” but today who will look in the yellow pages for a name? It’s called progress regardless if we like it or not. Just my opinion
  13. Thanks guys that will do the trick
  14. Back in April 2016 when I got my new Edge I bought from the dealer a set of wind / water deflectors for all windows. I find these deflectors indispensable for the Canadian weather since without them as soon as you crack the window open any rain water will come inside the cabin. WeatherTech which I would have preferred to buy these deflectors from didn’t have them at the time so I bought the ones made by Ford and which are stick-on. I never liked the Ford ones because they are paper thin and now the front passenger window one started the peel off and I think soon will fly away. Anyone knows how to remove these deflectors? It looks like the glue Ford is using to stick them to the exterior window frame is pretty strong and I’m afraid to force it in case it damages the finish
  15. Who gets the auction price? Is it Ford Credit or the dealer?
  16. I had the same idea that they wanted to keep the car but if it has to go to auction why they didnt let me go to the other dealer and save the money / time to drive me over there to pick up my new car?
  17. I find it strange that dealer A did not get any commission because he had to have inspect my 2013 Edge plus he drove me to the new dealer. All this work for nothing? The salesman at the new dealer had told me when the new Edge arrives I just drive there with my old Edge and drive away with the new one however when the time came the old dealer called me and said my old Edge has to be driven to their place and they will give me a lift to pick up the new one. I didn’t like that but the new dealer confirmed that so I had no choice. Kind of strange but that’s what happened.
  18. Back in February 2013 I took a 3 years lease for my 2013 Edge Limited from dealer A. At the end of the lease I decided to get my new 2016 Edge Titanium from dealer B with a 4 years lease. When the new 2016 Edge arrived at dealer B, I drove my 2013 Edge to dealer A, and they gave me a lift to dealer B (about 30km away) to pick up my new 2016 Edge. Out of curiosity how the commissions are split in the above situation?
  19. Thanks guys, somehow I had a feeling the 2013 Edge TPMS would not work on the 2016. Now its confirmed
  20. Last December I got from a Ford dealer a set of winter tires (18” mags and tires) for my 2016 Edge Titanium but due to a misunderstanding the TPMS valves were not installed. The tires are Champiro IcePro SUV, 245/60R18 105T. Not very happy without the TPMS but I have 2 options to consider Installing the TPMS valves on the above tires will cost me approx. CAD$450.00 + tax (TPMS valves cost $CAD60.00 each) From my previous 2013 Edge Limited I do have a set of winter tires (mags and tires) with the TPMS valves already installed and they only have about 12000 km. However they are 17” mags and the tires are BFGoodrich 235/65R17 108S. The 17” mags do not fit my 2016 Edge and so some suggested it will be less expensive to get a set of 17” steel rims and install the 17” tires and TPMS valves on the steel rims. I don’t know the cost of a set of steel rims yet Reading on the web https://www.wheel-size.com/size/ford/edge/2016/ I see that the minimum tire size for 2016 Edge is 18” so to me my 2013 Edge 17” tires will not fit however friends tell me that’s not a problem My questions: Are 17” steel rims and tires suitable for a 2016 Edge and would the TPMS valves from a 2013 Edge work on a 2016 Edge?
  21. I got my car last April and no one has touched the car since then because it was running as it should. Forgot to mention that I had no problem with starting the car even in -20C weather neither any acceleration / hesitation problems – just when I was at a red light she will start the rough idle and I had to keep pressing the gas a little because I was thinking she will stop. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the rough idle but about 10 days before the problem started I went to a dealer to purchase a set of new winter tires (tires, mags and the 4 TPMS valves). However they installed regular valves instead of the TPMS by mistake and now the TPMS is not working and have the light on my dash lit all the time.
  22. Yesterday when I went out I noticed to my surprise that the rough idle was gone and the engine was running like new again. For the past 2 weeks I have done nothing special neither I fill up and I have no idea why the rough idle appeared in the first place neither why disappeared by itself. Since my appointment with the dealer was this morning, I went and explained the above and they said to go back if and when the problem comes back. So that’s the news
  23. Very good point, when the problem first occurred it was the first thing I thought - to switch gas station but it did not help
