  1. Much appreciated Joehio, I will check it
  2. The current lease for my 2013 Edge Ltd will expire next February. I plan to renew the lease for a 2015 Edge but since February is in the middle of the winter here in Montreal I would like if possible to do the renewal either about 6 months before or about 3 months after. My 2013 Edge has 22K kilometers and is in top shape and well maintained. Is it possible to do the renewal as mentioned above and are any penalties involved? Is anything else I should be aware when the time comes to renew a lease?
  3. Thank you akirby, glad is not the TPMS. I will monitor the pressure as your saying
  4. As I explained before I have the habit (perhaps a bad one?) not to check tires pressure and never had a problem with any tire. I'm retired now which means that is a long way I have been doing that and it has been successful. It is true that I never had before a CUV which has BIG tires and perhaps I should change my habit at least for now to resolve this problem and I will do that. However if my tires were 25% down last year, to my opinion there is something wrong with the tires. I just cant see that with a new car I have to check the tires pressure every so often which I will find it very inconvenient especially during the winter months My summer tires are now in the cabana and I inflate them to 40Lbs. Next spring after I get them inside the garage I will check the air pressure and if it is lower I will take them to the dealer to see what they say. In the mean time, I will monitor the air pressure on my winter tires to see if I have the same problem with them. I hope I will find no problem with them because I drove with these tires from Feb-2013 to Apr-2013, plus Dec-2013 to Apr-2014 and without checking the air pressure during that time I never had a problem. But no one mentioned how the TPMS warning works. How that system works? Perhaps I'm loosing air thru that system?
  5. The car came with the 18” wheels/tires and at the same time I ordered the 17” winter wheels/tires. I never changed the valve stems. The strange part is that in the summer of 2013, that is the 1st summer I used the car, I never had a problem and never checked the tires pressure which to me means there is no manufacturers default with the wheels/tires
  6. I agree with what you guys say and it is a common logic but based on my experience I have a different view. Yes the tires pressure will fluctuate with the ambient temperature and driving conditions but when the car sits inside a heated garage the next morning the tires pressure will always be the same unless there is a leak. This is based on my personal experience with the two Passats I had in the last 15 years; I never checked the tires pressure and never had a single problem with them With my current Edge, since I bought her in February 2013 I never checked the tires pressure except recently when I got the low air pressure warning light ON and I discover that there is a problem with my 2 rear tires and I started this thread With the above I'm just expressing my own experience and I don't deny what you said is the right thing to do but some times when we are busy, we just don't have the time to check tires pressure. I will do the test with a soapy water solution but I doubt I will find anything and then I will ask the dealer to see if they know anything about my problem
  7. Just switched to winter tires tonight and noticed that the 2 front tires were 30Lbs. I'm not in the habit checking the air pressure in my tires and the only time I do so is when I change tires in April and December and I never had a problem before This means to me that all 4 summer tires (the original) loosing air and now I find it very unlikely that there is something wrong with the tires. I don't know how the tire pressure monitoring system works but I wonder if its possible this system to be the reason. Does anyone has an idea?
  8. That must have been expensive! I hope mine will not be tha same
  9. The ideas are good but I wonder why they occurred after 1.5 years. Anyway I switch to the snow tires the second week of December and if I can't find any leaks I will take them out for service
  10. With 18K kilometer in my truck, this is the second summer I used my 18” original tires. Since up here we change the summer tires to snow tires for the winter period, I would say that the summer tires have about 10K kilometers. About 4 weeks ago while I was driving, the low pressure tires warning came on and stopping at the nearest service station I noticed both rear tires were 28psi. So I pumped some air and forgot about them. Yesterday while driving again the same warning came on and now I started to worry. Measuring again the tires pressure, both rear tires had again 28psi. The front have always been ok. Next month I have to change my summer tires to snow tires and then I will take them for inspection. I find it very unlikely both rear tires to have a nail or something and I wonder if anyone here had a similar problem

    Rain Water

I got my weathertech rain channels about 2 years ago and I can't be happier. Besides the sharp look, if I did not have them the rain will always flood the interior because I always drive with my drivers window open or half open. Cost me about CAD$100.00 for the front pair and I installed them myself. They come in either brown or green tint and got mine in brown since I have Kodiak brown. They also help to reduce wind noise Picture attached
  13. I know from a previous post that the power outlets on 2013 Edge are not suitable for cigar lighters Anyone knows how to remove the existing power socket on the passenger side and where the new wiring should be connected? Is a relay required?
  14. Good to know akirby, I will do a Master Reset Thanks
  15. Does the entertainment system on the 2013 Edge has a memory to maintain a library of songs played thru a USB? If yes, how do you erase the memory?
  16. Same thing happens to me but as akirby mentioned above its not a big deal to set it again to what I preffer The same goes for the drivers seat. I set it where I want it, press the button to store the position into the memory and its ok for some time (weeks or even months). But some times, I will go to start the engine and the seat will start to move forward and change its position. Thanks for the info akirby re MFT software
  17. Sorry akirby I forgot Why you say “That's not MyFordTouch - that's just the MyFord dual 4" screens”? On page 417 my manual starts a new chapter and it is called MyFord Touch (If Equipped) and describes the dual 4” screens
  18. What I said akirby is “complicated in the sense that it could have been designed with fewer menus” and this is just my opinion Obviously its not a big deal to set the screen as you want it but in my case once in a while the Display will revert by itself to any other option and I have to reset it to what I want. Never figure out why it does that and never mentioned to the dealer because it’s not a big deal
  19. The MFT is complicated in the sense that it could have been designed with fewer menus. For example the “Screen Display” has 3 options (To Empty, RPM and Engine Temperature, and RPM, Engine Temperature and the Fuel Gauge). I just don’t see why anyone would NOT like to have just one display visible: RPM, Engine Temperature and the Fuel Gauge and therefore eliminating one menu item. Many more screens like the above could have been eliminated resulting in a better system And as Waldo mentioned in post #7, the useless indicator bars are eliminated in newer models Regardless the above, I love my MFT and SYNC and never had any issues
  20. Thanks to all for the help Yes they are what you mentioned and they are not 4 or 5 tinny rectangles as I mentioned on my 1st post but only 3 and when you scroll with the left / right arrows on the steering wheel these rectangles are lighted depending on the screen you are. But I don’t see the purpose of them; I mean kind of more clutter in a complicated system
  21. On my 2013 Edge LTD I can’t find in the manual what this gauge is for. It is located just above the fuel gauge and it is just a small horizontal line, perhaps 1/2" long, made with 4 or 5 tinny rectangles and the first from the right looks like its filled (lighted) I don’t know if it always had been there but just notice it recently Anyone knows what it’s for?
  22. I used a 5/16" wrench and all is fine - so simple Thanks
  23. Yes it is MFT equipped and I just found a setting "Auto Dimm" which was set to OFF. Now I put it to "AUTO" and I will see if it works when it gets dark outside Thanks
  24. I wonder if there is a better way to dim (together and at the same time) the lights on the Instrument Cluster and SYNC screen at night. What I do now is a two step process which I find quite difficult and dangerous: First I use the Instrument Lighting Dimmer switch (located to the left of the steering column) to dim the Instrument Cluster lights and then I have to find the menu on the SYNC screen to dim the SYNC light which is quite bright. Then the next day I have to do the same process to increase the light level in both. Perhaps there is an easier way described in the manual which I missed?
