  1. Has anyone used the Ford windows wind deflectors part FT4Z-18246-A? I had a Weathertech pair on my 2013 Edge and I loved them but there not available yet for the 2015-2016 Edge so I was thinking about the Ford ones. However these are stick-on and I dont know how well they will stay in place
  2. Last Wednesday Apr-27-16 I returned my 2013 Edge Limited and got my new 2016 Titanium with the 301A package, 2.0L Ecoboost, Platinum White with Ceramic interior. It only had 5km. Very happy with the car, looks and feels luxurious inside and outside and have notice no defects. I like the black shiny finish on the dashboard which does not give the feeling of cheap plastic like my 2013 I’m disappointed that the Wallpaper feature is gone with the new SYNC3 but overall I’m very happy
  3. Didn't have a chance to use the nav yet but I agree with you on the wallpaper - it really sucks. When I placed my order I was not smart enough to ask about changes because I thought there will be improvements and not elimination of existing features. But I must say the 2016 is a huge improvement vs the 2013 I had before, the interior / exterior are amazing and the ride more solid
  4. Thanks Cara, SYNC3 is much better than the one I had on my 2013 Edge Limited but they should not have removed the walpaper
  5. Has the wallpaper feature on SYNC3 removed? I just got my new 2016 Titanium and I try to learn the new SYNC but there is nowhere I can find it
  6. Very disturbing to hear this major problem but luckily the truck is at least safe to drive. Regardless I dont understand how Ford allows such a defect to go un detected at the factory since I assume they do some kind of waterproof test in all trucks. Since my current lease expires next February I was thinking to go for the 2015 Titanium but now I'm thinking if its a good way to go or not
  7. Now I get it and I will look into it, thanks
  8. Very good info WingNut, thanks. But how can I sell my car when it is not mine (I mean it's leased)?
  9. This is my first time I leased a car and I wonder what happens when I return the car at the end of the lease. I have a 3 years lease which expires in February but I plan to return it and lease the 2015 Edge around October / November since I prefer not to have a new car in the middle of the winter. The salesman who leased my current Edge has move to another Ford dealer in another town and since I liked him I plan to go there for the new lease. I spoke to him already and he said there is no problem to get the new Edge over there but I wonder if it makes a difference. My Edge currently has about 26k kilometers and is in top shape however there are 8 needle head marks on the paint in the front especially on the hood from stones or salt. These marks are just paint chip and are not dents. Would they charge me for a new paint job and what happens when you return the car at the end of the lease?
  10. Thanks for the reply but the TPMS went OFF by itself and gathering from what you suggest it must have been an interference somewhere which I can’t figure out.
  11. It is more than a month now my TPMS light is always ON and checking my tires the pressure is 36 Lbs in all. Every time I start the engine I get the message in the dash "Low tire pressure" and then I click ok on the steering wheel and then the little light at the bottom stays ON. I try to ignore the light but it’s annoying and I wonder if there is something I should do or take the car to the dealer? I have about 25K kilometers
  12. As mentioned, these are the original tires and with 24000 kilometers on them I doubt it the problem is with the valve stem or beat of the tire. Its amazing that you got 277k klicks in your 2008 Edge!
  13. I understand that akirby, if no success next step is to replace the stem
  14. Here is an update to this problem. Last month I removed the summer tires from my cabana and got them in my garage to switch my winter tires. Before I stored them in the cabana last December, all 4 summer tires were inflated to 40PSI and when I checked the pressure in my garage both rear tires were flat completely but the front were at 40PSI. So now I know I have a major problem with the 2 rear summer tires (these are the original 18” summer tires with about 20k kilometers on them). I found no visual defects so I inflate them again and after one month and perhaps 500 kilometers the tires are ok (visibly) I don’t want to check the pressure with my tire pressure gauge because I’m thinking perhaps the little valve inside the valve stem is defective and now it may sit properly so there is no air loss. If I disturb it with my pressure gauge it may start leaking air again. I got a tool to remove the valve from the valve stem but I would like to know if this valve is connected to the TPMS. Anyone has an answer?
  15. Something I never thought about it, thanks RJG
  16. You got it right and I don’t think this is unusual. I don’t know much about leasing but I would say if I go next February when my lease expires and I say I want another 12 months extension would they say no? I doubt it. Perhaps it may have to do with the length of the lease (mine is for 3 years). Now if I had a 5 years lease perhaps that may have been a problem. Also the low mileage I have may be a factor. Thanks for the info in the cognac interior
  17. Thanks for the input Cv27, I went today to see the salesman who sold me my 2013 Edge and we had a good chat. He said Ford Credit will change the lease for a new Edge +/- 3-4 months from the expire day but if I want a longer period I will have to pay for the extra months. But I also want to take advantage of the rebates Ford offers during the year so I will keep my eyes open and decide when the opportunity arrives. The dealer today had a 2015 Edge Titanium in Ingot Silver with the cognac interior and sunroof and I was surprised because I thought the cognac interior was only available in the Sport model.
  18. Lease extension sounds like a good option to me. Although its kind too early, I will be going to the dealer soon and find out first hand what my options are.
  19. From the discussion here I agree that I now have to take the initiative for future maintenance and I never go by the maintenance packages dealers offer because you always pay more for items you don’t need to be done
  20. I have the 3rd printing of the owners guide and there is no difference regarding maintenance with the 4th printing which I downloaded (thanks for the link) As an example, there is nothing mentioned in the guide that I have to inspect / lubricate the brakes and change the air filter at 24k kilometers like the service tech told me today. Assuming I did not asked if there is anything else to do, I would have left the dealer with only an oil change. I’m also surprised that the tech guy instead of saying, “anything else for today” he should have said “there is this service to be done at 24k kilometers and since you are at 23.3k now would you like to do it today”? I guess I have to rely on the dealer and ask every time I go if there is anything more to be done. Yes they do have specials like “The Works” here which is pretty good deal if it happens when you need this kind of service
  21. At 23,300km I went today to the dealer for oil change and filter which I do once per year and the technician asked, anything else for today? Then I said, well is something else I can do? And he said yes at 24k you need to change the air filter and have brakes inspection. So I said ok lets do it. I have no documentation to tell me what service and when I should do what’s required. My manual in page 355 has something about scheduled maintenance but nothing to tell me at so many miles I have to do this service etc. I remember my old Passat had a separate booklet just for maintenance and each page was marked with the miles(time) intervals for each service with detailed description of each service and a place for the dealer to stamp the service performed How do we know when we need a service and what each service includes?
  22. Hey Kitulu, is the Scion bumper protector a vinyl sticker too?
  23. Good to know Magnetic Edge, thanks
  24. The Cargo Accessories Package ($400 in Canada) includes cargo area cover, cargo area protector and rear bumper protector. Is the bumper protector SS, aluminum or plastic? Anyone has a picture of it?
  25. I found the order guide and now I see the availability of the tech. package and all the rest Thanks Magnetic Edge
